Did a few tests, but it looks like this issue is no longer observable.

10.0.0~trixie-1     hanging
10.3~trixie-1       hanging
10.4~trixie-1       hanging

10.5~trixie-1       working
10.10~trixie-1      working
11.0.0~trixie-1     working
11.14~trixie-1      working


A bisect between wine-10.4 and wine-10.5 gave:
3ae66c75cf443c0be403d9fe4e4da3c19b3ad9a8 is the first working commit

    winex11: Use _NET_ACTIVE_WINDOW to request/track window activation.
    When supported, instead of tracking window focus only.

Replaced by upstream download of version 6.8.7.
