When the game starts or after changing menu screen, main menu is completely black. Graphics can be visible only after pushing any button in the menu, but releasing mouse button elsewhere. GDI rendering is the same, but OpenGL render engine works, but with different issues. After loading the background is completely black. On that black screen there are buttons, but only a few of them has text inside. After re-rendering of screen (e.g. hiding emulated desktop and unhiding) sometimes other buttons has text (it's random what button is ok and what not, but there are 1-2 buttons ok at all). All texts (not backgrounds) are rendered good. Yes, it's still an issue. Now it's much more interesting in OpenGL mode - background pixmaps are reversed (Gangsters logo is at bottom, etc.). Arntz <jsarntz(a)yahoo.com> 2008-07-06 22:19:43 --- Just tested this game using a clean, out of the box wine installation with Wine 1.0 on Fedora 9, with a fresh install of the game from the disk. (No custom DLL's, no registry key changes, etc.) First thing, when you use the menu icon in the Gnome Menu for Wine to launch the program, a box appears that says no sound card detected, and a yes or no to run w/o sound. Sound will work from a command line launch from within the game directory, but no CD audio from disk. The intro movie will work, but the main menu colors are distorted and the text on the menu buttons is not visible, I managed to find the buttons to create a character, and the text on the boxes where you input a name is not visible until you click inside the box and the captions for the boxes are missing as well. I managed to create a character and start playing. After you push the button to create a city, the city creation loading screen starts normally and gameplay screens appear normal. But now in OpenGL mode whole screen is blue in the menu. I can still click on buttons, though. After re-rendering it's more strange - I can see text on "buttons" (more precisly - gray rectangles), but everything else not rendered (portion of screen remain the same as it was before re-rendering). It's fun that I can see good rendered background just after entering menu and just after clicking "quit", but it almost immediately becomes buggy. OpenGL divides screen into 4 rectangles, form top to bottom, and reverses order. Re-rendering almost same, but background is black (so it's rendered). Note that now music works (bug I didn't notice before). AFAIK music is hold on CD in audio.
