[Bug 59607] New: ACD/ChemSketch 2025.2.1: crashes immediately when copying structures to clipboard (Ctrl+C)
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59607 Bug ID: 59607 Summary: ACD/ChemSketch 2025.2.1: crashes immediately when copying structures to clipboard (Ctrl+C) Product: Wine Version: 11.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: MacOS Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: ole32 Assignee: wine-bugs@list.winehq.org Reporter: massyfederici@gmail.com Created attachment 80672 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=80672 Logs of bugs ### Environment - OS: macOS (MacBook Air) - Wine version: 11.0 (Stable/Dev) - Software: ACD/ChemSketch (Freeware) 2025.2.1 - Build: 147869 (26 Jan 2026) - File Version: C65E41 ### Problem Description The application ACD/ChemSketch 2025.2.1 crashes instantly when attempting to copy any drawn object or chemical structure to the clipboard using Ctrl+C or the "Edit -> Copy" menu. ### Steps to Reproduce 1. Start ACD/ChemSketch 2025.2.1 in a clean WINEPREFIX. 2. Draw a simple structure (e.g., a benzene ring or a single bond). 3. Select the structure using the selection tool. 4. Press Ctrl+C to copy. ### Actual Result The application terminates abruptly with a crash as soon as the clipboard action is triggered. ### Expected Result The structure should be copied to the clipboard for internal use or for pasting into other applications (via Wine's clipboard synchronization). ### Additional Notes The issue persists on a clean Wine 11.0 installation without any DLL overrides. This version of ChemSketch is very recent (Jan 2026). The terminal output shows multiple EMF_Update_MF_Xform World transform failed! errors, followed by fixme:ole:OleQueryLinkFromData ...,stub!. It appears the crash is triggered when the application attempts to populate the clipboard with OLE data and Enhanced Metafiles (EMF). I am attaching the full terminal log and backtrace as a .txt file. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
