https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45707 --- Comment #2 from Chris Wyatt <wyattmeister(a)gmail.com> --- Hi Gijs, thank you for the quick response. It's a very difficult game to get hold of; however I would be happy to sort something out over a private message or an email. This was the full terminal output; however I did not have debug messages turned on, so I'll reproduce the error again, and see if there is this produces more terminal output. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Still happens with Wine 11.19. The full console output is just these two lines:
0134:fixme:ntdll:NtQuerySystemInformation info_class SYSTEM_PERFORMANCE_INFORMATION 0128:err:sync:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 79446A00 "../wine/dlls/krnl386.exe16/syslevel.c: Win16Mutex" wait timed out in thread 0128, blocked by 012c, retrying (60 sec)
With new WoW64 it freezes even earlier. Filled bug 60426 for that. The ISO:

The installer of the demo of Warhammer: Dark Omen runs into what looks like the same Win16Mutex issue. Freezes for about 10s right when launching but then recovers. https://archive.org/details/DARKOMEN

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45707 --- Comment #6 from Ken Sharp <imwellcushtymelike@gmail.com> --- From testing, pressing CTRL+C in the console when the hang appears allows the setup to continue apparently as normal. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45707 --- Comment #8 from LingM <lingm+winebz@posteo.org> --- Yep, can confirm, pressing CTRL+C in the console does unblock progress here as well. The prefix needs to be set to any of Win95/98/ME though. The default of Win10 (anything WinXP+ really) results in the installer claiming that system requirements are not met and that at least Windows 95 is needed. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
