http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60294 --- Comment #12 from Béla Gyebrószki <gyebro69@gmail.com> --- Created attachment 82185 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=82185 experimental patches to fix upstream FAudio regressions Further investigation into this regression, assisted by AI, led to 3 experimental patches that address the issues for me. I performed all Wine builds and game testing locally. With all three changes applied cumulatively, the following games are now working: Wolfenstein: The New Order Wolfenstein: The Old Blood Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen Singularity X-Rebirth Fallout 4 The changes address: 1. resampleOffset becoming inconsistent with totalSamples while the unity-resampling fast path is active. 2. The resampling tap loops potentially writing beyond the requested output and causing an unsigned underflow in toResample - tap_samples. 3. A divide-by-zero in FAudio_INTERNAL_GetBytesRequested() when the WMA decoder is active and samples_per_block is zero. The third problem appears to be an older and separate issue rather than part of the FAudio 26.09 regression, but it became visible during testing after the first two crashes were fixed. I am attaching a unified experimental patch for testing. It is generated against Wine’s vendored FAudio source and can therefore be applied directly from the root of a Wine source tree. This is not intended as a final Wine-side solution; the changes still need upstream FAudio review. More detailed analysis and test results are available in FAudio issue #414. https://github.com/FNA-XNA/FAudio/issues/414 -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60294 --- Comment #13 from David Oftedal <zerooneo@01101001.net> --- As near as I can tell from a short test, The Sojourn (#60375) also runs well with the latest FAudio which includes the fixes. So that's looking very good. I'm unable to retest it a second time due to an unrelated Vulkan or DXVK problem of some sort ("Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded."), but that's not tied to this Wine version, and hopefully the one test run is enough. Thanks everybody for the hard work! -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60294 --- Comment #14 from Roberto Eick <eick.roberto@gmail.com> --- Building Wine-devel master on my own with latest Faudio commits from project leader gives me back pretty normal audio experience without crashes. I Tested following Faudio commits: de2e524 ba6ba7c 38b7a42 63669ee ee01836 833705a ba08663 81a5b8a 2af4f00 f7a5280 41bfee9 2ead980 a3b49d6 Especially last two seem to have fixed FC3 audio for me, since I forgot them and it still crashed. So this might be RESOLVED for some/most games affected, as seen other similar issues getting RESOLVED in Wine-Bugzilla and Faudio sides. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
