What workarounds are you using? The application won't even connect here.
0170:fixme:bcrypt:BCryptCreateHash ignoring object buffer 0170:fixme:bcrypt:BCryptGenRandom ignoring selected algorithm
Try an older version (v8.x) https://download.fileeagle.com/files/2022/05/BvSshClient-Inst.exe No workarounds were needed when the problem was originally reported years ago, now it seems the latest version of the Bitvise SSH client requires newer windows crypto API than what wine currently supports. The original bug is not about using the client but the fact that some windows applications in wine generate abnormal dialogs. Attempting to install the version above will trigger the problem right before it even completes the install, it will show a warning on an impossibly tall window which is what the bug report is about. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Is the issue with the installer a new issue? It's not mentioned as a problem originally, or was an even earlier version used when this was logged?
It is the same issue, just shown in a new dialog because originally when the bug was reported the software was at version 4.x-5.x and it happened in the logging off dialog. Tried to find an older version to permit you to see the problem (newer version 9.x does not have that particular problem with the tall dialog) The older version I could find (the last one when I updated the link) version 8.x does show the problem in the installer itself when it opens a dialog to warn about file permissions not being secure. So this version 8.x shows the same problem as originally reported but in a new dialog. So yes 100% the same problem. This issue is not exclusive to this application, I've seen more with similar problems, this one just happens to be small, compact and a nice free download example. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. uniscribe seems to be the component bugged vs richedit
Although `winetricks -v riched20` still fixes the dialog so richedit may still be a valid as component bugged. uniscribe warn logs no longer appear with winetricks riched20 so maybe a combo of the two components. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
