Confirmed Accessibility/sticky keys are disabled. Issue appears app agnostic as it appears even when running regedit and notepad. If key is pressed when reset event starts, system repeat rate issues keycode. If key is pressed before reset completes, no key event registers. Attempted wine 9.0, 11.0, 11.15. Issue persists. journalctl -kf shows event `kernel: usb 3-1: reset full-speed USB device number 2 using xhci_hcd` almost 1 per second while wine is active. Attached console output. WINEDEBUG=+hid,+rawinput Not change in output with or without debug options (also tried WINEDEBUG=+all) Device details at https://linux-hardware.org/?probe=b64b678cd7 symptomatic built-in keyboard is 0b05:19b6 ASUS N-KEY Device using usbhid. Currently on COSMIC, cannot disable sticky-keys/key repeat. This seems unlikely to be a Wine bug. Have you checked when Wine isn't running? What distro are you running? And what Steam apps? This seems unlikely to be a Wine bug. Have you checked when Wine isn't running?
journalctl goes quiet once wine is closed.
What distro are you running?
Pop!_OS 24.04 7.0.11-76070011-generic COSMIC (Wayland) - GDM3
And what Steam apps? How are you running Steam?

To replicate, I'll start 'journactl -kf' in one terminal. In another terminal I'll start a wine program like 'wine notepad' or 'wine explorer'. I can load programs, games, and play around. This is when journalctl will start reporting resets events for my usbhid keyboard and ONLY the keyboard. Once wine is closed, the reset events stop. I've updated asus firmwares via HBCD. One of my next steps might be to see if I can explore custom firmware via qmk. I don't remember why, but there may be an issue when a device has no Report Deescriptors (lsusb -v). Except it only affects the N-KEY device and not the mouse.. so that's unlikely. I've also not tested another external keyboard. I'll report when I do. While Proton appears to also be affected, I'm under the impression that some libraries are shared. No (unless Proton does something). These submitted tests were done (and still doing) independent of other running software. I'm going to test kernel regression as I've just found a launchpad bug report that is similar (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-7.0/+bug/2161269).
