Normally the game would then appear, but it almost always just freezes at the loading screen. The one exception I found is the basic and advanced training, which always finishes loading and is playable. This seems to only happen on Mac. You can press ⌥⌘Q while the game is hanging and it will exit instantly, so the event loop is clearly still going. But it does use about 200% of the CPU. I'll attach a sample.
