Without a virtual desktop, the game menu is rendered as a black screen after
the introduction movie. ​Running the game in a virtual desktop avoids this
rendering failure.

The movies play fine, and music and sound effects work too despite nothing but
a black screen and the game cursor being shown.

I am going to try older WINE builds to see if this is a regression, according
to my notes it was already a problem with WINE 9.0.

Oldest WINE build I can install on my system right now is 6.0.4, and it already
suffers from that bug. This is probably not a regression, or at least not a
recent one.

WINE 5.0 and older are built against libraries too old for my current system.
