System menu is functional. New game is selected. Initial cut seen plays. Sprite is moved to first in game story battle. A couple notes to add: 1. In this forum threads someone suggest hex-editing FFVII.exe to disable achievements. I didn't try this method, but got positive replies from others who did. https://www.gog.com/forum/final_fantasy_series/ff7_crashes_after_first_battl... 2. I'm not saying for sure that this is a Wine regression, but it's strange that reverting commit 82275b1 fixes the crashes in the game. 3.
