Under Windows you can just compile the dll using mingw and then drop the dll in to the program direct that you want to test. Lets say you have a app name foo.exe you can copy the wine comctl32.dll to that directory that contains foo.exe and the make a copy of foo.exe and name the copy foo.exe.local When you create a *.exe.local file it exposes a hidden hack in Windows that forces it to search the local directory first for dlls no matter what the registry setting is. Note this only works for comctl32, shell32, shlwapi, ole32 and a few others. Dlls from Wine like user32, gdi32, ntdll, kernel32 and friends cannot be loaded on Windows. ImageList_SetColorTable is trivial with using DIBs internally now. That just leaves SetPathWordBreakProc. I believe that should set the word break proc of an edit control to one that understands paths. Stupid thing to try ...

I was thinking of a silly thing to try, namely replacing windows dll's with wines, does anybody have any thoughts about it ? I just thought about it as a debugging trick I wanted to try, but I don't know enough to evaluate if it's even worth trying. So what about it, is it worth giving a shot ? Regards, Lars Segerlund.

Rename Wine User Guide to Wine User's Guide?

The Winelib documentation is called the Winelib User's Guide, but the Wine documentation is called the Wine User Guide. I think for consistency's sake we should rename the Wine User Guide to Wine User's Guide - afterall, it's a guide for the user, not about the user. Thoughts?

[PATCH] DrawDibDraw flag handling

I got a lot of messages from this function about a particular flag (DDF_BACKGROUNDPAL) not being handled, so I tried to handle it. I suspect that there needs to be explicit support for DDF_SAME_HDC, but I didn't really understand what it was wanting .... The problem with ASCII art is that the website uses a proportional font so it looks all messed up. I think a good janitorial task would be for somebody to install Inkscape and convert the ASCII art diagrams we have in the docs to SVG, so they could be rendered to PNGs or something and become a part of the developer guide. What do people think of this? If anybody is reading this and wants to help the Wine projcet but doesn't want to/can't write patches, this would be a great little job to do.
