After abstaining from commercial games for a couple of years I found three Windows games under the Christmas tree this time. I was a bit nervous as I no longer have a working Windows partition. I only tried one game (Esacape From Monkey Island) so far and it was a shattering success. I did have to read some Wine docs and fiddle around with settings for half an hour, but after that the game runs flawlessly in its OpenGL mode. I'm skipping further details[1] as this mail's main purpose is to *thank* you all for the great piece of work that Wine is! Wine/Agent freezes with deadkeys

I' m running KDE 3.1.4 and as keyboard I have the US w/deadkeys activated to get german umlauts. I noticed frequent freezes in Agent when I typed new messages and now I know when it happens. I have to press the ' or " key in order to get accented chracters or Umlaute. When I press this key Agent freezes, I can see a defunct wine prozess and I have to kill the wineserver. I haven' t seen anything on the console though. No errormessage or nothing. I've been told by M$ Italy that if I have a windows license for my pc, I can install any M$ windows OS component, such as media player or IE, even if windows is not installed. The important thing is that one must have the license, that's why I think the script should get the files from the windows CD. Ivan.
