Two font problems

I'm having what seem to be two unrelated font issues with a CAD program. The first is concerned with selecting a font. The program seems to use a fairly non-standard intreface for doing this - you can set font size in mm for example. When the dialog opens this message is printed to stdout: fixme:commdlg:CFn_WMInitDialog No founds found with truetype only, dropping flag. I am assuming that this is a case for s/founds/fonts/ or not? The dialog does give the option of TTFs, and previews them, although only very small, possibly the smallest size available. The second problem occurs when the program actually tries to add the specified text to the CAD drawing. This message is printed to stdout: err:font:XFONT_RealizeFont plf->lfHeight = -2048, Creating a 100 pixel font and rescaling metrics and a windows error style message box is produced that has the message "Error! GetGlyphOutline failed. Unable to get character outline.". The program is clearly trying to convert the text to a vector graphic so that it can treat it like any other shape, but failing. Should I file two bug reports about this? The software is commercial and so I can not provide a copy for anyone to reproduce this error.

MS OLE questions

Hi all, I was wondering whether anybody with experience working with microsofts ole implementation (win98 version) could answer these questions: Firstly, does anybody know what it does during thread detach? Its behaviour seems to vary according to, i dunno, the alignment of Mars and Jupiter or something. With a test app it destroys the hidden windows it seems to use for IPC, and terminates cleanly. With my IE-in-java app, it goes into a message loop, processes some messages then blocks waiting. It never drops out of the message loop. Secondly, does anybody know what is missing from Wines built in OLE implementation for it to be used for IE embedded? I've tried using it, and other than a couple of bugs in the GIT (which I will try and send a patch for soon), it seems to get stuck in ITypeInfo::Dispatch() and ends up with an E_NOTIMPL exception. Thirdly, why does MSOLE use hidden windows for communication? I've come across lots of gnashing of teeth in OLE/DCOM forums about this, people wondering why their app (and sometimes the whole system!) deadlocks if they don't service the message queue in threads that use OLE. Windows has had other forms of IPC for years, I can't see the logic behind using the limited and broken message passing scheme for it. Wierdly enough, wines built in OLE seems to work OK for iexplore.exe itself, which iirc simply embeds the ActiveX control like any other program. Hi, 1) How can i use winemenubuilder? it doesn't give any error. i try: # wine winemenubuilder "c:\\Notes 5.lnk" Where it set the menu? 2) I think to a new application to add to wine. This application help a to trasfer application from windows to wine. I mean the main problem is the key in the registry. If an application give u to select the application and that application make a reg file with the kay take from the registry for that application, it's more simple to trasfer that to a wine. 3) I'm new, and i try to start to understand how wine work, but the main problem is that i don't find something talk on that. 4) What can i use to read sgml? 5) there is a freeware game http://www.steffengerlach.de/freeware/xo1.zip that if i start like: # wine d:\\xo\xo.exe don't work but if i start that from winefile work correctly. Why? 6) debug! i have an application that don't give any exception, or better trap the exception. i need to a particolar point of the execution to enter in a debuger how can i? thx Moreno

Is there anyway this could be of use to WINEgcc? I figure not but I wanted to ask as it might not ever get merged in to GCC-HEAD. I dont think so but if anyone is still interested in SEH for WINE and Winelib its worth a look at least. Freetype libs in /usr/include/libs

A user notified me that even if his system has Freetype2 installed, Wine fails to detect that during configure, for he has installed it in /usr/local instead of /usr/X11R6. The patch below fixes this, but I'm not sure whether it's the right approach. If it is not, how shall we handle this, assuming /usr/local is a standard prefix which I think we should always consider? Wine for SolX86

Hi All, I am porting wine to solaris x86 platform. First wine didnot launch i had a problem with heap pointer then i applied a patch after applying this patch i was able to launch wine. Now i am validating wine with your GOLD and SILVER list mentioned in the site. I was able to run only winzip and filezilla. Rest of the applications is not launching. Currently i am trying to install AcrobatReader 5.0.5 but i am getting an error saying err:module:BUILTIN_LoadModule loaded .so but dll wineoss.drv still not found and the installation hangs.
