GDI renderer

Hello, I have found a discussion about the build of a new wine GDI renderer with SDL. (http://www.winehq.com/hypermail/wine-devel/2002/01/index.html#564) I would like to know the actual status of it, and how to configure wine to use it in place of the X11 drv? (I already have the 01-sdldrv.tgz) Olivier

Wine build under Solaris x86

Before I get too heavily into looking at the issues with ptrace in the server code with Solaris, I should probably check... Word in Hebrew and Wine

Hi, I have a pretty good estimate of what needs to be done to get Word supported in Hebrew. The current problems have to do with Word calling "GetKeyboardLang" after each character, and using the result as a basis for interpreting each received character. Currently, this function just returns the system locale, which causes Word to assume each and every letter is a Hebrew one, even the English ones. The results are pretty catastrophic, as people have reported (typing "Hi there everyone" typically results in the screen showing "Hthere everyone i", with "yone" highlighted with green to say it has syntax correction to suggest. The correct is to replace "there" with "they're"). I have been itching to do an overhaul of the Wine keyboard handling for some time. I think the current scheme is overly complicated, and causes problems. This is a major task, but I may be able to recrute some local help. I am a bit worried, however, about the fact that some other people may also working on a similar task at the moment. I know Dmitry said in the past he is rennovating the keyboard a little, and I know codeweavers still hold a patch that will allow UTF-8 input locale to work. I would like to coordinate the effort. MAX_PALETTES

I was looking thru the website for something easy that is listed as a todo and saw the item for correcting arrays that are done like [256] instead of [MAX_PATH], etc.. Looking thru the sources, in d3d8_private.h MAX_PALETTES is defined as 256 and then used later in the file and I believe in other d3d8 files, while it isnt even mentioned in ddraw files, although almost identical functions are called.. ShellExecute, bug 22, and MDSN

There was a mistake on my part.. I inadvertently downloaded the 20020710 binaries and reported a bug that has since been halfway fixed.. Shellexecute, bug 22, and MSDN

Looking at: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/shellcc/pl… and then looking at our shlexec.c, I noticed one small difference between the 2 and was wonder if a bug should be filed on it.. In the MSDN docs, it says that if lpOperation is null: "For systems prior to Microsoft Windows 2000, the default verb is used if it is valid and available in the registry. If not, the "open" verb is used. For Windows 2000 and later systems, the default verb is used if available. If not, the "open" verb is used. If neither verb is available, the system uses the first verb listed in the registry." In wine's shlexec.c, if lpOperation is null, we only use the open verb, like so: if (lpOperation == NULL) /* default is open */ lpOperation = "open"; I think this could hinder certain programs, especially if someone would like it to do something besides open the file (like in the case of bug 22, where it is a link, not a file).. This could also be a problem if there is no application associated with the file, since we have no window/tool allowing the user to choose the app... I guess I should add that in the code for shlexec.c we do have handling for links, but it appears to not make it that far as of right now.. "make uninstall" fails at /usr/local/share/aclocal
