I may well ask you to add some more TRACEs in the code to help me understand better what happens (ie if it's blocking in Wine code or in application code). But I would be interested on a +opengl trace too. And maybe you should try to remove all trace of glide2x.dll of your system (maybe once Tribes manages to load the glide2x it cancels OpenGL as it supposes that a system with Glide2x will work better with it than with OpenGL). Including winnt.h

I ran into a problem (syntax error) with some functions that are declared __cdecl using WineLib. Including winnt.h directly fixed the problem, but it doesn't seem like the right solution. Shouldn't winnt.h be included automatically (ie, by another header file somewhere that's included by WineLib)? I'm not really sure how to track that down, which is why I emailed the list. ****************************** Steve Lustbader

Small DirectX (8.1) bug

When playing Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds under WINE the text for the menus is rendered as black rather then white. What wine flags should I be using to send a proper bug report for this? The game's software mode >works fine through the x11drv. I'm aware of that fact, currently using the latest Tribes patch (OPENGL got into patch 1.3, i got 1.11, so i'm sure it works). Getting glide to run in tribes doesn't seem to be a problem, i've been playing some with glide-wrappers which seems to work fine (some glitches) and the game gets renderd. I believe that if the opengl detection would get fixed, the game would probobly work perfectly in opengl. Lionel any more logs you need, just drop me a mess. The problem is this line in X11DRV_EnumDeviceFonts: if (physDev->dc->gdiFont) return FALSE; so if the font is "MS Sans Serif", it will return 0, and old VB apps at least won't like that. But knowing the actual X11 font name given in the wine config, from the alias table it's possible to enumerate it, so those apps will start, that's what that patch does. That's all I really managed to understand here, if there is a better way to do this I will.

What does this mean? Taking it out doesn't seem to hurt anything. I understand from this block: static void FILE_InitProcessDosHandles( void ) { dos_handles[0] = GetStdHandle(STD_INPUT_HANDLE); dos_handles[1] = GetStdHandle(STD_OUTPUT_HANDLE); dos_handles[2] = GetStdHandle(STD_ERROR_HANDLE); dos_handles[3] = GetStdHandle(STD_ERROR_HANDLE); dos_handles[4] = GetStdHandle(STD_ERROR_HANDLE); } why we don't want to close those handles probably. But why would I see that message, do sloppy windows programs try to close a range of handle numbers or something? Tell me what needs to be properly converted to what and I'll try to do it :P

Just wanted to say thanks and let you know that geoshell now works in WINE on my slackware 8 box. This is great because once the ReactOS boys get the windowing work done it wont take much adapting at all for us to have this as our shell.
