GImp 3.0.6 for Windows (32-Bit) uses the buffered memory transfer mode TWSX_MEMORY (Likely so they can show a progress bar while scanning). It fails without this merge request and succeeds with this merge request.

So it obviously failed due to this width=0 problem HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a when getting the scan parameters before sane_start.
