Some questions about WineConf.

Hello, I'm a Wine user since somewhere around 1.5 (2012, I believe?), and ever since then I got really interested in it. (Of course Wine is not my only interest within the computer space.) Since I don't have deep pockets at the moment, I was really happy to find out that WineConf is hosted in The Netherlands this year, though I have to travel all the way to the other side of the country since I live in Overijssel. Thus it got me wondering whether it would be possible to attend for just one day. I'd also like to know about the ARM Emulation update. Is this about the x86-on-ARM Android syscall emulation or? Because it doesn't say x86-on-ARM specifically. As for my last question: It's hosted at a hotel, right? So I basically register online, and just show my ID at the hotel reception? Just making sure I get the right place and all. Thanks in advance & best regards, Gerhardus Otten

Saturday dinner

In case anyone missed it. The address for dinner is on the wiki ( https://wiki.winehq.org/WineConf2018) It's about a half hour walk, otherwise trams are available after 6. Groups are gathering and leaving from the lobby between 5:45 and 6.

Saturday at Wineconf for the "bonus crew"

Head's up.. pass it on to your bonus peeps: Open invite for the folks not obliged to hang out all day in meetings! I'm attending the Keynote and the CodeWeavers update, and the BBQ dinner later Saturday evening, but I have a chunk of time in the middle there that I'm free to explore. A few of us plan to convene in the lobby around 10:30am Saturday to throw out some ideas and venture off together -either as a large group or a few smaller groups, depending on what folks are interested in doing/seeing/experiencing. Please join us if you'd like! Ideas thrown into the mix were renting bikes, visiting museums, heading to the pier/beach, etc. Nothing set in stone; open to suggestion and whimsy! At 3am, after what feels like 20miles of walking today, I'm partial to the biking option this minute, but who knows how 10:30am will move me (...big shout out to my Cuban dancing crew, you have some serious moves!! <3<3<3) ~mandi ..........Oh man, who am I kidding? This is my first WineConf and I'm told the list is how we all find out what's going on. Wineconf story time - please introduce yourself

So a number of us have arrived, and are going to go walk about in the sunshine to attempt to stave off jet lag. Looks like there is a new terrace bar that might be fun later on as well. A note - this event is in large part a social event. Many of us know each other already, so if you are new, we are eager to meet you, and you should feel welcome to introduce yourself. We had an attendee in Stuttgart who sat one table over from us the whole night and never introduced himself. I was deeply embarrassed to discover that the next morning when we put on name tags. We would have loved to include him, and ever since then, I've made a point of asking new people to connect. Shoot an email if you are here but have not connected yet, and we'll find a way to make some introductions. Cheers, Jeremy

Hello everyone, My flight with American Airlines was canceled today due to mechanical problems. I have been rescheduled for the same flight plan tomorrow morning. This means that I will arrive in Amsterdam Thursday at 8:15am instead of Wednesday at 8:15am, and I will arrive in The Hague about an hour after that. Fortunately, remembering how much trouble I've had with international flights in the past, I had planned an extra day of tourism before the conference just in case. So even with a full day of delay, I should still be there for all of WineConf and some tourism besides. Looking forward to seeing you! -Alex

Parking in The Hague

I checked out where to park my car for WineConf and here is what I gathered. Parking in the city centre is pretty expensive, seems to be about 40€ per day. The cheaper alternative is to use the Park and Ride parkings on the periphery. https://www.denhaag.nl/en/parking/parking-in-the-city/park-and-ride-the-hag… * P+R Hoornwijck + tram 15 https://www.denhaag.nl/en/parking/parking-in-the-city/pr-and-tram-fast-and-… https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=17/52.04951/4.34821 This is probably the simplest solution. It's a multi-storey parking, there's one tram every 10 minutes and the trip takes about 13 minutes. The cost is 5€ for the first day, including the tram ticket, then 7.5€ per additional day and the return tram ticket on the last day. * P+R Station Ypenburg + NS Sprinter https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=16/52.0553/4.3881 The parking is free but not covered and there is video surveillance.
