Hotel for FOSDEM

Hi Folks,

The nature of FOSDEM means that people can stay wherever they like.  And
the FOSDEM page itself lists a bunch of places, including a bunch of
inexpensive options.

However, I thought it would be useful to pick a 'default' hotel; that's
where I and all the CodeWeavers folks will be staying, so other people
from Wine might want to stay there as well.

We have chosen the Best Western Hotel Royal Centre:

It's fairly close to the Grand Place, which Wolfram suggested.  It is a
fair way from FOSDEM itself.  But I gather that most hotels are, so
we're not unique in that regard.  Google transit suggests it's faster on
the public transit (30 minutes) than the hotel Mozilla used last year,
so it doesn't seem worse than most.

We were quoted a rate of 89 Euros per night, and we were told that rate
would be offered to anyone else that called.  Of course, we're fairly
naive, so maybe you can get an even better deal...<grin>

You may need to call or email them; when I tried their online system
yesterday, it wasn't working.

One key feature of this hotel was a bar, which means people have a place
to connect.  So that's where I'll be on Friday, testing Alexandre's
claim that Belgian beers are the best... <grin>

I'm interested. Though how to find out if beds are really separate? :)

My plan is to see if I can get rooms at the same place this year.

If others would like to suggest an alternative, I'd be open to exploring 
it, but we should pick it pretty quick.

Just a quick update; I realize I wasn't clear on this.  I guess
I thought the default was implied; let me make it explicit:

The CodeWeavers folks have booked a block of rooms here
for 89 Euros / night.

The hotel now seems to be jacking their prices up (113 Euros / night).
Mandi is working to see if she can get them to offer a 'Wine' rate
so we can get others in at the 89 Euros / night.

I'll post again when she hears back.

When I was booking at that hotel via phone, they told me 130 EUR / night. 
So I booked through Agoda for 89 EUR / night. They still have some room for 
that price:

Alright, Mandi has talked to the hotel, and they are holding a number of 
rooms for 'Wine' people at the 89 Euro rate.  You should be able to get 
that from them; maybe try mentioning Mandi's name or CodeWeavers if they 
are not immediately forthcoming.

Holler if you don't find that to be the case.

Thx, it worked after mentioning her name and the rate.
So i booked a doubleroom with separate beds in hopefully case someone will like to share a room. I booked it for three nights (Fr-Mo) at a rate of 99 Euro.

FOSDEM Room sharing

Hi,
So i booked a doubleroom with separate beds in hopefully case someone will like to share a room. I booked it for three nights (Fr-Mo) at a rate of 99 Euro.
In case you want to share, it'll be 49 Euros per night for each. I'm also glad if you wanna share only two of those days...
If knowbody responds within ~20h i think i rather cancel that...

I just called (I know I'm late) and they told me to send an email. And
before doing that I have checked their online reservation and low and
behold I found an "Internet Rate" at:
- Single bed at 79 EUR/day
- Double bed at 80 EUR/day

So I booked online ;)

I got my single room (3 nights) for 64€/night (breakfast included)
at www.trivago.de using otel.com
(Crossing fingers, that everything will work)

Today, trivago offers 49€/night (without breakfast) using booking.com
or 59€/night (breakfast included) also using booking.com.
