Change default library paths

Hi. I have a set of home-made scripts for compiling and using different Wine versions with different prefixes (no system-wide Wine installed at all). I build new versions on Ubuntu VM (./configure --prefix=/home/build-user/wine-build/binaries), then copy compiled binaries to designated folder of my openSUSE box (this folder does not match with configured --prefix, e.g. /home/my-user/wine/binaries/1.1.40) and run it, setting correct PATH, WINELOADER and WINEPREFIX. Everything went OK until now. I've updated my building VM from Ubuntu 8.04 to 10.04 and built Wine 1.1.44. Now it refuse to run with wine: failed to initialize: /home/build-user/wine-build/binaries/lib/wine/ ntdll.dll.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Setting WINEDLLPATH does not help - it searches for dlls only in default precompiled location. http://kegel.com/wine/yagmarkdata/ now has data from 3dmark2000, 2001, and 06 running on a beefy i7 960 with an equally beefy Nvidia GTX 295 with either Windows 7 or Linux+Wine (all tests run at 1024x768). These results are probably only accurate to +- 5%. Later on I'll do multiple runs and compute the median to reduce the noise level. Notes: On really big screens, at least under wine, 3dmark2000 seems to lose its mind and put up a warning dialog behind the main window (thus hanging the test). I had to set the screen size down to something closer to 1024x768 for it to calm down and run the benchmark. 3dmark2000 and 3dmark2001 need to be run in xp compatibility mode on Windows 7, or they complain of insufficient memory. msvcp80 redux: easier than we thought (for some apps, at least)?

A little over a year ago, somebody asked how Wine planned to deal with msvcp80: http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-devel/2008-December/071440.html Back then, the answer was "winetricks vcrun2005 unless you want to start implementing it yourself": http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-devel/2008-December/071444.html Now that msvcr80 is in pretty good shape, perhaps it would make sense to look at whether msvcp80 could be implemented. Perhaps some programs only use a small subset.
