This has caused problems in some installers I have run. One example is Family Tree Maker 9.0 - This installer creates a file called TextEditor.dll - but when it is installed, it ends up being called texteditor.dll (note the lack of capitals) - and Family Tree maker gets confused at that. I realise that most people will not have this application - but i'm sure there are other examples around. Apparently a number of activities have taken place to make wine launchable from within the source directories. The following message suggests that launching from /usr/src/wine near the end of the script /usr/src/wine/programs/regedit/regedit is not being properly handled: Warning: could not find wine config [Drive x] entry for current working directory /usr/src/wine; starting in windows directory. Is the intention to launch wine from /usr/src/wine without changing dierctory to the windows directory? Then this message appears: /usr/src/wine/miscemu/wine: cannot find 'programs/regedit/regedit.exe.so' /usr/src/wine/programs/regedit/regedit.exe.so does indeed exist. Is there a broken link that is missing here? Often items in the rightmost column seems fully visible. However clicking on such an item causes it to jump to the left. Of course the reason is that the listview code considers that the item was not fully visible and thus scrolls left by one column to make it fully visible. However I think this can be confusing. Also, this does not appear to be the behavior on Windows (although that may have changed in more recent comctl32 revisions), making it even more confusing. So I propose to select the item and not scroll left even if the item is not fully visible.
