Solaris since at least Solaris 8 (I have not checked earlier) has obsoleted use of the ifreq structure. The new structure is lifreq (defined in /usr/include/net/if.h). The major problem of using the ifreq structure is that the ifr_mtu union element is not defined. While possible to kludge your way around this, we should be using the lifreq union.
