Killing wine and its friends does nothing, as far as rectifing the problem. When I start it up again, it simply will hang. As I said, every now and then it works... And if so, kill it "killall -9 wine-preloader". Then check again. If you see zombies then you need to update your kernel. This error fills the terminal window: err:ddraw:Main_DirectDrawSurface_GetSurfaceDesc Impossible/Strange struct size 0.
