When I changed the configurations in winecfg - adding the msvcrt as native (without changing, or overriding any dll, just changing the configurations !!!) - this bug apparently is solved. This is a bug ????? Now I'm confused, all I need is to say Wine that a dll is native (when is not)??? This makes wine just use the native dll and not load the builtin dll. And, this then also lets the app parse the config file correctly. Therefore, there is (was) an incompatibility in the builtin msvrct. If there is interest, I could get the latest wine (0.9.26) and see if I can reproduce. My own interest is in resolving the crash which now follows just after the app is done initializing its user interface, according to its start up message, and just before it would display its main window, qt-based with a opengl 3d viewing area. It might be best top open an new bug for that ?
