The same problem exists in mshtml. So the fix is to get the address of 'RegInstall' which is the same as 'RegInstallA'. There's obviously the issue about all the different versions, there seems to come out a new version with every release of the dxsdk. The other issue is that except a number of rather trivial matrix manipulation and texture loading functions, it also contains the HLSL shader compiler. Transgaming ActiveX is installed (and should work). This is a problem, especially since on attempt to launch Half Life 2, Steam remains in the middle of the screen, even as HL2 goes into fullscreen.
