However, if we want to more properly diagniose the problem, perhaps we can start to compare differences between installation methods, and what they change in order to find what we need to work on. I currently use the bleeding edge Nvidia drivers, on Wine 0.9.20 on a Gentoo 2006.1 base with the 2.6.17-r4 kernel.
