On my system (Ubuntu Feisty w/ Wine 0.9.44, CK 1.05) this crash hasn't happened. Had this Issue if trying to install on my D: which is mapped to /usr/local/games, after changing the Letter to e: it works to install Silkroad in E:\SilkRoad. Before trying around with that, try to install in default folder - should work.
