I put them here so that they won't get lost until I have some more time to check if they are real bugs. Running with a higher value e.g. 1g results in the following output: $ wine qpi.exe 1g ... Computing series, 0%fixme:heap:RtlCompactHeap (0x110000, 0x0) stub 12% Unable to lock memory Heap: 1, Size: 932088, Current: 554696704, Peak: 1099235328 $ I just checked on my slow winxp machine and it got to 15% (then I aborted, took 1h to get there). Running with 500m works in wine. There is another bug with the input. Works, tested with 300000k digits of Pi ;-) Such apps which try to be über-clever about memory management should be a very rare occurrence.
