I got a "dispatch initialization error" from Shrinker, though in my case it was for the file "setup-32.exe." After a bit of research, I found this bug report. I downloaded the DeShrinker program, and used it to decompress the setup-32.exe file. That did get rid of that particular error message, but then I got one telling me that the program had to be installed from the original cd. So manually decompressing the file is not an option in this case. I am testing wine 0.9.61 and did this, which solves a bug in ubuntu 8.04: sudo sysctl -w vm.mmap_min_addr=0 It works now. Do you guys get upset with us reporting this kind of problems? I mean, by my side I usually have no way of knowing where's the culprit, but I understand it can be annoying to you.
