It installs fine on Wine, but after starting it insists on inserting the original CD in the CD drive although it is in the drive. A scan of the main executable with a copy protection scanner reveals Scanning -> c:\Programme\Klett\Mathetrainer 5\Mathetrainer.exe File Type : Exe, Size : 1231923 (012CC33h) Bytes -> File has 46094 (0B40Eh) bytes of appended data starting at offset 0121825h [!] Protect DiSC v6.2 - v6.8 (Build 12-07-2005) detected ! [!] exact version: Protect DiSC v6.2.5 ! [!] protection level: Basic According to http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_protections_protectcd.shtml this protection also refered as ProtectCD is a commonly used protection scheme. Other titles like "Need For Speed" and "Quake 3" make use of this protection scheme too. In other words, when I move the arrow cursor over any part of a Wine window/dialog box (except the top grab bar), the arrow jumps left and up about a inch. Unfortunately mouse clicks are sent as though the mouse was still where one would expect it to be. In other words, with the arrow cursor over the Wine dialog box, the cursor is up and left of where mouse clicks are sent from. I tried disabling Compiz, with no effect. Notes: * You can run the inf file with the following command: rundll32 setupapi.dll,InstallHinfSection DelTest 128 c:\deltest.inf * The above command needs a full path to the inf file. * Obviously, don't do this on a real Windows machine unless you know how to restore your Telephony registry key. All available COM ports are listed when running under Windows. Under Wine, none are found (see attached screen shot). Defined COM1...4 (/dev/ttyS0...3) and COM5 (/dev/ttyUSB0) were all chmod to 666 to ensure permissions weren't a problem; the problem remains. Without serial I/O, the app's function of reading a GPS' serial stream and writing commands to an autopilot controller (also via serial stream) is lost.
