I have only tested this in Emulate a Virtual Desktop mode. One more thing to add, when playing with the Blt and Unlock methods (from surface.c in wined3d.dll) - adding wglFlush to them, I was able to even get a cursor for a while, though, the cursor's movement was restrained and it always reverted to the center of the screen. The problem occurs using both fglrx and the RadeonHD open source drivers. I am currently running Ubuntu 10.04 64bit. I had the same issue with Ubuntu 9.10 64bit previously.
