[Bug 21940] New: Rise of Legends Demo crashes with null pointer reference in msxml3?

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21940 Summary: Rise of Legends Demo crashes with null pointer reference in msxml3? Product: Wine Version: 1.1.40 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: msxml3 AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com Once you get past bug 19539, you have to choose to ignore two BHG errors; the game then starts and runs (though I got no sound). Trying to play a campaign crashed for me quickly with an msxml3 error (which is funny, since I had done winetricks msxml3, and winecfg shows the override, but the backtrace still shows Wine's msxml3): Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit code (0x7362be22). [Bug 22912] New: Half Life 2 and Portal subtitles unreadable
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org Aug. 6, 2026

Aug. 6, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22912 Summary: Half Life 2 and Portal subtitles unreadable Product: Wine Version: 1.1.44 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: c_winehq(a)selador.com.au After installing Steam in a new profile and then using it to download and install Portal, the game runs perfectly except for unreadable dialog captions. (see attachment Portal-glitch02.png) The screenshot illustrates how the sound effects captions in white are fine, only the dialog captions in red with italics are affected. I've tried reducing all graphics options and resolutions, to no avail. It looks like something specific to font rendering - the bounding box for the characters is not taking into account their italicization, so the rightmost pixels are being truncated. The exact same problem was described more than 2 years ago against Half Life 2 (which uses the same core engine) here: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=2890 (post titled 'Font rendering oddness' by John Flatness on Thursday November 1st 2007) It's also been reported downstream in the Crossover bugtracker and they've confirmed the bug but have been unable to take it any further for nearly a year: www.codeweavers.com/support/tickets/browse/?ticket_id=742458; -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Examples for two cases as attachments. Splashscreen overlays every other application like terminal, firefox, ...(funky background is from photoshop main window) The toolbar on the left side is from Photoshop CS2 which is opened fullscreen but overlayed by ImageReady CS2 » Photoshop toolbar overlays everything other Also when working with more than one image, clicking on another image window in photoshop sets it between otehr windows instead of setting it into foreground which is very annoying -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 19800] New: cygwin's tar -cz crashes when run from a shell script
