After that message you go through the login which loads up fine. Menus and browsing around the application works just fine with the mouse but it's when you load up a game that the problem shows up. The mouse doesn't seem to be detected. For example at the initiation city near the mage trainer there are a few boxes. If you destroy them, the game will crash. Next is when you go back to the airship there will be a sequence and after the dialog you can move where you want. If you turn around after that dialog the game will also crash. I tried various times and those crashes are 100% reproducable with version 1.03 of the game (original dvd, no crack!). I attached the output from terminal to this post. It has always worked well for me, through several upgrades of the underlying OS. Yesterday, I upgraded my system to Kubuntu 11.10 by a clean installation (retaining my /home partition) and today I re-installed Wine. When I launch Memory Map I get a dialog headed 'Program Error' that says 'The program MMNav.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry....' The supporting info simply points me here. Since this has worked for so long, I have no idea what version of Wine was running on 11.04, but clearly something has changed.
