http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26626 Summary: The screen in Gothic turned out to be quite dark. It wasn't like that with 1.3.14. Product: Wine Version: 1.3.16 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: t_break(a)web.de Created an attachment (id=33894) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=33894) A screenshot which shows how the bug becomes apparent. Starting with 1.3.1.5 the contrast, brightness and gamma settings of Wine are broken when I play Gothic 1 and 2. The screen turned out to be quite dark, whereas everything worked out well in 1.3.14. 1.3.15 also suffers from this bug. I've attached a screenshot of how a Gothic 2 mod looks in 1.3.16. Everything is almost so dark, that you can barely recognize anything there. In 1.3.14 is was much brighter (both versions were compared with default gamma, contrast and brightness settings). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 23170] New: Men of War Demo crashes on startup, needs D3DXFilterTexture
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org June 16, 2011

June 16, 2011

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23170 Summary: Men of War Demo crashes on startup, needs D3DXFilterTexture Product: Wine Version: 1.2-rc3 Platform: x86 URL: http://www.bigdownload.com/games/men-of-war/pc/men-of- war-demo/ OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: download Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3dx9 AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com CC: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Happened to try this game: 1f5071f09be6ca64ff7de0d7773710be4c398e1d Men-of-War-Demo.zip With a clean .wine, it aborts quickly on startup with dialog "No pixel shader 'PS' in effect 'shadow/sm' (erendershader.cpp, 339)" and log fixme:d3dx:D3DXCreateEffectEx (0x196ed0, 0x3f2be48, 4532, 0x1fbf330, 0xda8c30, (nil), 0, (nil), 0x1fbf21c, 0x1fbf218): semi-stub fixme:d3dx:ID3DXEffectImpl_GetParameterByName (0x1d2c70)->((nil), PS): stub winetricks d3dx9_36 seems to work around this and let me play the game. Interestingly, this game seems to compile shaders on first startup and cache them in ~/my games/men\ of\ war\ demo/shader_cache so if you remove all DLL overrides and rerun, it fails later with wine: Call from 0x7edd7053 to unimplemented function d3dx9_36.dll.D3DXFilterTexture, aborting It looks like Owen is working on that function, http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2010-May/088732.html Not sure what the status is. Let's make this bug about the latter problem, since that's probably solvable first. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 24883] New: Sonic Fan Remix Demo doesn't accept keyboard input
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org June 16, 2011

June 16, 2011

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24883 Summary: Sonic Fan Remix Demo doesn't accept keyboard input Product: Wine Version: 1.3.5 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: VincentBeers(a)gmail.com Created an attachment (id=31510) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=31510) Initial terminal output Game demo available on http://sonicresearch.org/sonicfanremix/SFRdemo.rar.torrent (Note: I am not sure how legal this game in itself is; it is a fan project based on licensed characters after all. Sega doesn't seem to be stopping them though.) I have tried this game and found that while the graphics look good and don't cause any fixme's whatsoever, I cannot play the game because keyboard input is not read or accepted. Because of this, pressing enter (the default key for "start") at the title screen does absolutely nothing when it should be continued. Terminal output is attached. Tested on a clean Wineprefix, Ubuntu 10.10 with Wine 1.3.5. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
