[Bug 219] Programs refuse to run because of safedisc copy-protection

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=219 Anastasius Focht <focht(a)gmx.net> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |focht(a)gmx.net --- Comment #93 from Anastasius Focht <focht(a)gmx.net> 2011-06-07 15:11:53 CDT --- Hello, --- quote --- > Hi, i just tested two games with safedisc in wine-1.1.13 and none of these > complained "put the original CD into CD-ROM!" I tested: > > > * Need for Speed Underground 1 ~ safedisk 2.90.040 > > * Need for Speed Underground 2 ~ safedisk 3.20.030 > > > So it looks like safedisc support is implemented very well. Damn well, because > my backup CD copies of these two game which works flawlessly under windows > don't run under wine (under windows these backup CDs even don't need SW support > like hide CD-R). I have to use originals in wine :( Any comment how is it > possible? > I have installed Need for speed underground 2 on wine 1.2 RC 3. I am running Kubuntu 10.04 on a 64-bit dual core AMD system. I still get the "Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application" message when I start the game. I presume its the copy protection talking there, right? Wine is pointing to the correct cdrom path and the CD is mounted when I run the game. --- quote --- No problems either. $ wine --version wine-1.3.21-254-g5bf7622 --- snip --- -=[ ProtectionID v0.6.4.0 JULY]=- (c) 2003-2010 CDKiLLER & TippeX Build 07/08/10-17:57:05 Ready... The installer is a bit picky about working folder (only run directly from CD1 mount point). You can copy AutoRun.exe and AutoRunGUI.dll off CD1 to another (temp) folder and run "AutoRun.exe" from there (do 'wine eject' and (auto)mount when it asks for CD2). --- quote --- > Could someone remove "Need for Speed Underground 2" from list of "Show Apps > affected by this bug"? I don't know how to do it... --- quote --- I'd rather close these stupid metabugs ... everyone keeps adding "dupes" and the list gets longer and longer without actually targeting specific versions/issues. Many appdb entries are not properly maintained/tested due to this metabug, giving false impression. [Bug 1348] RegisterHotKey and UnregisterHotKey are not implemented. (Affects e.g. Adobe Photoshop.)
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org June 7, 2011

June 7, 2011

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1348 --- Comment #26 from Vincent Povirk <madewokherd(a)gmail.com> 2011-06-07 13:42:49 CDT --- Patches sent: http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2011-June/102875.html This modifies both the server and user driver, so it's unlikely to get in on the first try. There are still some limitations, mainly that Wine programs will only be able to see keyboard input when a Wine program has the focus or a registered hotkey is pressed, and that simulated keystrokes from Wine programs will only work within Wine. This means that synergy will probably still not work, and it limits what AHK scripts can do. Neither of those limitations can be fixed. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 8922] Adobe Dreamweaver 8: redraw problems
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org June 7, 2011

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8922 gbrowne(a)cix.co.uk <gbrowne(a)cix.co.uk> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |gbrowne(a)cix.co.uk --- Comment #11 from gbrowne(a)cix.co.uk <gbrowne(a)cix.co.uk> 2011-06-07 08:15:48 CDT --- Hi, I would just like to confirm that as of today 7th June 2011, this is still an issue. Just tested it with Dreamweaver 8.0 and Wine V1.3.15. DW installs fine and seems to work well with pretty much everything you ask of it until you resize or move the outer containing window, whereupon various components of the window are not repainted and you are left with a very broken looking screen. DW has not crashed and you can use Alt-F to get the File menu and close down gracefully. F5 does not redraw the whole window, just the preview area. Workaround seems to be to just maximise DW as soon as it opens. As far as I have been able to test so far, this seems to prevent the problem - including Dan's reported 'New Site' bug of 2007-07-11. Happy to perform any specific tests if it would help pin the bug down. This is so near being perfect. Geoff. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 27407] New: Wine complains WINED3DFMT_R16_FLOAT is not supported with r600g driver.
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org June 7, 2011

June 7, 2011

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27407 Summary: Wine complains WINED3DFMT_R16_FLOAT is not supported with r600g driver. Product: Wine Version: 1.3.19 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: opengl AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: rankincj(a)yahoo.com Specifically: fixme:d3d:check_fbo_compat Format WINED3DFMT_R16_FLOAT with rendertarget flag is not supported as FBO color attachment, and no fallback specified. I'd be happy to raise a corresponding bug in Mesa (if necessary), if someone could tell me exactly what Wine thinks is missing from Mesa's r600g driver. The graphics card is HD4890, the game in question is World of Warcraft, and I don't see this error with r300g / RV350. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
