[Bug 31407] New: Neverwinter Nights crashes after the intro videos
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org Aug. 21, 2012

Aug. 21, 2012

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31407 Bug #: 31407 Summary: Neverwinter Nights crashes after the intro videos Product: Wine Version: 1.5.10 Platform: x86 URL: http://www.fileplanet.com/117661/110000/fileinfo/Never winter-Nights-Demo OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: download, regression Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: opengl AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: gyebro69(a)gmail.com CC: julliard(a)winehq.org Classification: Unclassified Regression SHA1: d66fa61e097aa801c381d7b00972abb667aee220 Created attachment 41277 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=41277 plain terminal output It should be noted that the game suffers from bug #28869: when videos end, the screen remains black, only the mouse pointer can be seen. Not sure if the current problem has anything to do with that problem. The problem: when starting Neverwinter Nights, several videos (company logos) are playing. When the last video ends, but before the main menu could appear, the game crashes. This didn't happen in Wine 1.5.9 (although there is bug #28869). The result of the regression test: d66fa61e097aa801c381d7b00972abb667aee220 is the first bad commit commit d66fa61e097aa801c381d7b00972abb667aee220 Author: Alexandre Julliard <julliard(a)winehq.org> Date: Wed Jul 18 13:07:08 2012 +0200 opengl32: Call OpenGL extension functions through the TEB function table. :040000 040000 1356a08897833c5981ed2b6dcb44e5f8522a86b8 9ef37a73051153ccfaf59b6be34a38dd7ff7cae7 M dlls The problem can be reproduced with the demo version as well, although it contains only one video file, which doesn't come into play when starting the demo. Please follow the steps below to reproduce the problem with the demo. 1. install the demo 2. in the ../movies directory rename the file CDpromoEND.bik to Atarilogo.bik 3. start the game with nwmain.exe 4. the video with the false name begins to play, press <Esc> to skip the video...a crash happens here. [Bug 30271] New: F.E.A.R.: License key can't be entered in installer
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org Aug. 21, 2012

Aug. 21, 2012

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30271 Bug #: 30271 Summary: F.E.A.R.: License key can't be entered in installer Product: Wine Version: 1.4 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: zarquon(a)t-online.de Classification: Unclassified The license key is a sequence of 5 4-letter/digit sequences. As soon as there's a letter in one of the sequences (which should be true for pretty much all keys), you can only enter 3 characters in this sequence and therefore can't install the game. I also tried using an 8-bit locale (en_US.iso88591) rather than the default UTF-8 one, but that didn't make any difference. If you only enter digits, you can enter all 4 characters in each sequence. The latest release in the Wine 1.2-series (1.2.3, IIRC) only had this problem in the middle sequence. Since this is an installer problem, it will probably also manifest in other Sierra titles of that time (2005/2006). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
