This can be found in the wine-registry-file USER.REG [Software\\AGAVA TBP] 1304453547 "Frequency"=hex(b):00,c0,69,2a,c9,00,00,00 'b' is for "<QWORD value (as comma-delimited list of 8 hexadecimal values, in little endian byte order)>" See <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Registry#.REG_files> and MSDN. After exporting this from REGEDITs menu 'Registry/Export Registry File...' When you get the "ActiveX control" warning; say Yes. Click on the 'No thanks, just take me to the demo' button on the lower right. It then shows the second launcher screen, the one that is supposed to have the nice animation bringing up the "play now" button. This animation doesn't work, but you can still click where the button should be. At this point it should show the intro movie, but no video is shown, and the game crashes after a few notes of music. winetricks d3dx9_36 works around the problem. The log shows a few calls to d3dx9_36.D3DXMatrixTransformation, a few calls to d3dx9_36.D3DXMatrixMultiply, and then Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit code (0x00672f70). The pixels that should be transparent are black instead (see attachments for example); ExtTextOut in the same conditions instead performs correctly. Interestingly, the behavior seems to be correct when painting over the screen DC (obtained via GetDC(NULL)). The attached sample program (also at https://bitbucket.org/mitalia/hatchbrushbug/src/hatchbrushbug.cpp) demonstrates the problem. My tests were performed with the wine 1.6.2 packages shipped with KUbuntu 14.04 x86-64; the problem is present also compiling a winelib executable with wineg++.
