Obviously the workaround is to downgrade back to 5.8, but I wanted to note this problem... The resolution changes, I still get the sound effects, I get a cursor, and apparently mouseover sounds, but nothing else. Steam has installed d3dx9_31.dll for me, and I installed steam using winetricks. Both steam and the addon forged alliance work fine.
