[Bug 50774] New: DirectWrite should use mac platform name entry for English, if Windows entry is missing
by WineHQ Bugzilla March 12, 2021

March 12, 2021

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50774 Bug ID: 50774 Summary: DirectWrite should use mac platform name entry for English, if Windows entry is missing Product: Wine Version: 6.3 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: dwrite Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: bunglehead(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- While testing patch [1] it became apparent that mac name entries should be used more often. For a font from fonts-femkeklaver [2] English face name entry exists for mac platform only. We should pick it up as well. P.S. additional improvement would be to lowercase locale names. Signed-off-by: Alexandre Julliard <julliard(a)winehq.org> breaks the (proprietary) application FrameMaker 8 - it is no longer able to load his licensing subsystem and fails to start. The patch reverts not cleanly. wine is self-compiled without mingw. There is a free download package for FrameMaker 8 (see downlads URL) which shows the bug. I am more than happy to help debug this. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 38744] New: support _UNITY_NET_WORKAREA_REGION

March 12, 2021

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38744 Bug ID: 38744 Summary: support _UNITY_NET_WORKAREA_REGION Product: Wine Version: 1.7.44 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: download, source Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: winex11.drv Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: madewokherd(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- This would allow us to reliably determine the work area in multiple monitor systems (at least when the WM supports the property), which we can't do currently due to limitations of _NET_WORKAREA. This matters because applications can react poorly to being assigned a different size/position when maximized than they expect. (Example: Excel 2010 in "fullscreen" mode.) The work area can be tested by unchecking "Allow the window manager to control the windows" in winecfg and then maximizing a window (such as notepad). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
