This breaks how centered and probably far alignments are handled since the string will be moved a crazy amount of pixels to the right. Since when StringFormatFlagsNoClip is on the clipping region is already disabled I suspect that modifying the width is not only broken but also unnecessary. I'm not sure though since I don't know gdiplus code well enough. See the screenshots. The applications are fast enough to be usable. The strange thing is that in CrossOver 9.0 that is wine 1.1.34 based. It draws correctly but it is to slow. I think that could be one of two problems: * Font engine, due to CrossOver and wine have different ones. * DIB Engine, maybe the dib engine was changed in recent wine versions and in CrossOver don't. Anyone can help me to do further tests in order to this issue be fixed? Moving the mouse shows the normal mouse cursor again but stopping the mouse on the entry again shows the I symbol again. When launching the LeagueClient.exe launcher pressing "Play" in the RiotClientServices.exe window it will show up the league of legends logo but it will be stuck on it for 1 to 2 minutes before it stops trying to launch the game client, so the riotclientservices "Play" button will get re-enabled for the user to try again Steps to reproduce: - Install WINE 8.5 (upstream release) - Install corefonts (via Winetricks or System wide, i did install system wide) to get the riotclientservices.exe to actually work - Launch the game installer that you got from "https://signup.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/signup/redownload" - Press install and wait for it, when its over it will launch the riotclientservices.exe - Wait for the league client to be downloaded by the riot client, press play after it and that's it. Ive seen other issues but seems like most of them got abandoned by the author and were also using an older version of WINE (please move the issues to gitlab if possible) Some random info: I have all wine dependencies installed, i'm on arch linux, i have corefonts installed and the prefix is a new one, clear, not even dxvk or vkd3d-proton is installed, is as clear as it can be. I have since moved over to Manjaro 18.1.5 and using Staging 5.0-rc2. I followed the procedure below and it installed acouple of extra files and I didnt see any errors on the installation, but when I run the program I get "Runtime Error 217 at 00000000004140EC" Last working fix "Possible problem with some distro/wine combination - found was that the downloaded "exe" installer would hang up at "moving files"; see below for workaround. Set Winecfg default to Windows 7 The exe installer is affected by bug 34989 / 33345, and the workaround mentioned in that bug report works for DELFTship. Run the downloaded exe with the following command to extract the files within it: wine /path/to/version_of_delftship.exe /extract Example: dave(a)dave-GB-BXBT-1900 ~ $ wine /home/dave/Downloads/DELFTship_90_300_mc0_sa.exe /extract This will create a subdirectory with the extracted files in the directory where the exe is located. The name of the subdirectory will be some combination of letters and numbers. Example: /home/dave/Downloads/323610A Within the directory are two files, Delftship.msi and DelftShip.x64.msi one is 32 bit and one 64 bit. take your pick, both worked fine on my version of wine 2.0. Once you click on the version you want it will install DelftShip and ask you if you want to run the program. The user's manual says it will prompt the user for credentials under "Run As" but never does and fails saying I don't have the correct priviledges to run the service manager in wine. How can I spoof the program to think I'm the admin. When I launch the game an empty, black window is opened, titled 'The Bureau: XCOM Declassified (32-bit, DX9)'. The game executable constantly uses 100% CPU, but the game doesn't load. The process has to be killed to quit. Changing Windows profile to Vista or Seven doesn't help. It might be that this can't be done as font matching/replacing takes place at much later stage, yet would be nice if someone could verify one way or the other. Perhaps those names should simply hardcoded to be returned in Japanese locale, regardless of the fonts being actually present ? Upon opening, ErrorReportClient.exe crashes and gives an error. I disabled this in the config file and when I open it as it gets to the stage "Initializing UI" a popup appears saying "Application has generated an exception that could not be handled" Process ID=0x7a(122) Thread ID=0x41(65)and I am forced to close. I have installed this app in windows (same exe file) and it works without issues. I followed the guide at https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=33292 without the dlls and with Windows version set to Windows 7. I would be so appreciative if you can help with this issue as I would absolutely need and love Vegas in Wine. This is my first report so I hope I did it right! Thank you for your time. In my example if I fullscreen WORD I get some of the UI missing and a desktop background stripe in the lower part of the monitor. So e.g. the primary weapon gets fired in the game. Alternatively, the cursor can also positioned over an ingame button (e.g. in the main menu). Then get another window into foreground without moving the mouse (e.g. alt-tab) and then click. This will trigger the ingame button over which the cursor lasted before switching windows. That app is portable, and the executable ran fine on my Ubuntu 20.4. Now I've installed Mint 20.1, then wine 6, then ran the same MLO executable again. Something bizarre happens: when I click on a tab in the app, its window moves to a specific position and size. If I move or resize the window and click one of the tabs, it moves back to that position. If I click elsewhere, this odd behavior doesn't happen. 1. Download from https://www.mylifeorganized.net/todo-list-windows.shtml and install 2. Launch the application. There should be two tabs at the top - "Outline" and "To-Do". 3. Click among them while moving the window around. I've run `sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-devel`, but `wine --version` still outputs `wine-6.0` just like stable. You will experience severe stuttering and frametimes spikes. * The issue is solved when the mouse use a polling rate of 125hz This issue DOESN'T affect linux native games. When wine runs in virtual desktop mode and the intro video of MechCommander is over, as soon as the mouse pointer leaves the window, the game freezes and I get a backtrace on the console. There are no errors or fixmes directly related to the crash. If I then use ctrl+c in the console, the internal debugger of MechCommander starts (this also happens if the crash has not happened), but does not seem to be of any use (missing debug symbols I think), but at least the program does not die totally. If I disable direct draw for MechCommander (edit prefs.cfg in game directory and set "b DirectDraw = F") the game runs in windowed mode itself and I have not seen the crash happen. I have seen it happen with MechCommander Gold and also with the free demo of MechCommander. For that purpose, I installed the xboxdrv (the userspace driver for xbox 360 and 1 gamepads) and after running xboxdrv with the command xboxdrv --silent --trigger-as-button, I started the game. The game has support for joysticks (I made sure I enabled joystick support in the in-game options). However, the game does not detect it, since it does not respond to any button presses or axis movements from the gamepad. When running the game from the terminal, the output I get with the gamepad attached to the PC is attached to this bug report. I have tried running the game natively on Windows 7 and XP SP3 with the gamepad attached and it is detected and runs as expected. Furthermore, by running STO with apimonitor from http://www.rohitab.com/apimonitor in Windows, I was able to determine that the game uses direct input 8, specifically the IDirectInputDevice8 and IDirectInput8 interfaces, to detect and control the system mouse and any attached joystick. It uses in particular the IDirectInput8::EnumDevices to find any available joysticks. In order to determine if this is an issue specific to this game running on Wine, I tried using the gamepad with another game well supported by wine and which also supports joysticks: Trackmania Nations Forever. This one detects the gamepad as a joystick automatically and by adding +dinput to WINEDEBUG, I noticed the following line on the output: Code: trace:dinput:IDirectInputWImpl_EnumDevices (this=0x12f718,0x0004 'DIDEVTYPE_JOYSTICK',0x8fc5a0,0x12238a0,0001). Endless legend crashes after nvidia logo (I think, I can hear their slogan but the screen is black). No crash log is generated. I tried with and with out glsl, same result. Endless space 2 crashes after a few moments. Here there is a crash after a few moments. There is no sound so I don't know when exactly but when emulating win 8.1 there is a crash log. Tested on Firefox 52 ESR, Waterfox and latest Pale Moon (you have to enable media.wmf.vp9.enabled to true for the latter so you can play videos on Youtube without native mfplat / vdec DLLs). I skimmed through Firefox's source code, it appears to be using IAudioStreamVolume::SetAllVolumes or similar calls. When I poked through Wine's code, it seems only coreaudio driver actually does anything here. The pulseaudio driver's SetAllVolumes is basically a no-op because it doesn't do anything with the volume it sets (except retrieve it with GetAllVolumes), and it's never sent to libpulse so of course it doesn't have any effect. The coreaudio driver does call ca_setvol or ca_session_setvol where the pulse driver is missing such a thing completely. With a quick search I found that pa_context_set_sink_input_volume might be useful for this purpose, but I don't really know much about libpulse, perhaps there's a better way.
