Character uniforms; cars; objects in game; etc. The strange colors they are change from playthrough to playthrough as well. I am using version 1.07f of the game from GOG. I have tried installing and running the game on a Windows 10 system and the texture issue isn't present there, it looks normal. I found that the first problem has been fixed, so I would like to ask which commit was fixed it (because there are many commits, I think the developer of wine may know better and can give the answer at once,if You feel this bothered you, first of all I'm sorry) . The second issue renders the application completely unusable (QQ Music APP can worked in 7.12, but not in 7.22) -------- Question 1: Describe the crash below (note that the font file msyh.ttf needs to be added in the ./wine/fonts directory to trigger the crash) > Let me explain here why the font msyh.ttf is added to the ./wine/fonts directory instead of using the original wine > Because only after adding the font, QQ Music will call this function "create_colorglyphenum", which will cause a crash. If this font is not added, QQ Music will not call this function and use other logic. > Because I don't have the source code of QQ Music, I don't know the logic of calling the function, so it is necessary to add this font file. The font file is added to reproduce the crash, not to change the wine. Here's a description of how the crash happens: Background: In the QQ Music program, this APP want to use the font "Microsoft YaHei" to output the four characters "QQ音乐". The function to call is: dwritetextlayout_Draw -> QQMusic logic -> create_colorglyphenum -> crash The cause of the crash is that in the function "create_colorglyphenum", there is a judgment of "!colorfont". > if (!colorfont) > return DWRITE_E_NOCOLOR; The "Microsoft YaHei" is not colorfont, it will return DWRITE_E_NOCOLOR directly, thus triggering a null pointer crash. Well this slideshow runs fullscreen, but anyway no output. All d16 plugins require you to go through an online login prompt through the plugin before you can use it (even for demos) and after you successfully log in, the plugin requires you to close it and restart it. The problem is, on the next restart the plugin asks for the activation credentials again. This problem is not limited to one DAW, Wine version, or plugin bridge it seems. I have tested this with Renoise and Reaper as VST hosts, with Wine 6.14, and with the yabridge and airwave plugin bridges. I am able to run other Windows VSTs without issue. The plugin works despite the UI being inaccessible - it responds to midi notes, sounds like it should and and my DAW's VST controllers work (but i can't change presets). The clipboard data has a size field anyway so match the Windows behavior. Since release 3.13.1, This behaviour is seen frequently. 4 times in one hour of play tonight, and 5 times over a slightly longer period yesterday night. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core Processor GPU: NVidia 1080 RAM: 8GB if I remember correctly. I am using Wine staging. The game is running from SD. I have DXVK installed in this Wine prefix. The issue happens with both Vulkan and DX11 graphics. I know this is insufficient information to investigate (unless you install the game yourself and start playing), but it is (annoyingly) easy for me to reproduce and if you tell me what logs you need and where to look for them I am happy to provide. I did a search and did find two log files. I have attached them and am not sure they are any use. Wine version up to 6.13 works good but all newer version can't work properly (the same for wine and wine-staging). Description: 1. Open DAW (I use reaper, crash does not depend on the version) 2. Put Soothe2 (VST Plugin) to the track. Its interface will open and everything will work fine. The sound is processed and nothing hangs. 3. Try to close plugin window or remove plugin from track. And after that the whole daw freezes. If I load plugin in a separate process, only this process hangs. But in other daws the situation is similar. On wine 6.13 all works good. Idk how can I found many logs from vst via wine and hope for help with the search for trace/logs of this thing. I have attached a core dump from the system log. There are two applications from Delta Automation: 1 - ISPSoft (An IDE for PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers)); 2 - COMMGR (a small companion app which connects ISPSoft with PLCs). ISPSoft works flawlessly for me, I haven't noticed any bugs. Projects are created and compiled. But it's useless until it's linked with COMMGR's driver. COMMGR can create different types of drivers: 1 - Simulation with a localhost port (works). 2 - Ethernet (I haven't tested it, but COMMGR does see the list of my network cards (eno1, wlp..) 3 - Serial(RS232/485) - most important one. It doesnt work, because there's no list of available serial ports. I use the latest version of COMMGR(1.14) I have a real DB9 serial port (ttyS0) and CP2102 USB-Serial converter (ttyUSB0) every port has symlinks in /dosdevices/. /dev/ttyS0 and /dev/ttyUSB0 are granted with 777 permissions. I do not know revision of like my tablet but may get that. Also when opening 3.0 no option for browsing like C: is displayed. I am unsure if that is a bug. Based on what seems to me, like all 2012 nexus 7 groupers may not be able to run other than 3.0. If you would like stack trace or like logs from other than 3.0 not working I could maybe get those. I've attempted to install the latest license manager ( version 5.8.0 available: https://www.ilok.com/#!license-manager ) - which runs into an error "ERROR: pnputil.exe failed to add/install the iLok driver package, error=-1073741515" about halfway through the installation, which eventually fails completely. Installing an older version of the license manager ( version 5.6.1 ) runs into the same pnputil error, but this does not stop the installer from completing. However, other software that is dependent on the iLok drivers does not work properly ( for example, UA Connect from Universal Audio: https://www.uaudio.com/downloads/ua-connect/ ). Additionally, when attempting to uninstall iLok/PACE I receive the error: "ERROR: --install package's .inf file path does not exist: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\PACE\iLokDriverPackages\EV\iLokDrvr64.inf" It seems like pnputil.exe is not present at all on wine, and is needed in order to support this installer? Installing EGS had no issue. Installing the game had no issue, except that it complained about a failure to install a required add-on. When the message was closed, it proceeded to download and install the game anyway. The add-on it tries to install are KB2921916 and KB3033929, which adds SHA256 support to Windows 7 (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/f4a4e72c-85c7-4683-8f4d-4…) I think it's unrelated to this bug. Clicking on the game in the EGS library opens the game launcher. Clicking 'play' in the game launcher closes the open window(s) and launches the game client. There is nothing on screen, but there's a BH3.exe process that rapidly (under 30sec) eats all RAM memory. Then the computer starts crawling while it eats all swap memory (5~10 mins). After it reaches 100% of all memory used, the system kills the game client process and all memory is freed. The EGS launcher comes back on screen (if the CEF webhelper didn't crash in the meantime). My system has 16GB of RAM and 16GB of swap. The game requirements are 4GB minimum - 8GB recommended. I've had a few game consumes all RAM and some swap lately, but they were games with requirement of 16Gb minimum and I thought that Wine dependencies and linux libraries consumption explained that it needed a couple of Gb more. It doesn't explain the current issue, however. It may also be the application that behaves badly, but I've not seen reports of such memory problems on Windows when searching for it. It may be a wine bug. It turns out that if i run compiz and try anything that zooms out of the desktop (eg fire up the app switcher or enable 3d windows and rotate the cube) i can see the app running normaly (videos and everything, i even managed to start a game). It seems that the app starts "above" the desktop for some reason (i've attached the log). Anyway, for many years it was enough to recompile Wine with that patch to have a working app menu... until recently. Now dlls/user32/menu.c code was heavily refactored so the patch cannot be applied even manually (all involved functions are gone etc). To summarize: - there is a bug which breaks app menu functionality for at least 2 apps - at this moment there is NO fix or workaround which can be applied anymore The original bugreport for Propellerhead Reason is from 2007. I mean, before Wine 4.11 in Rising Lads game (a Win95 game that uses wine 32 bit configuring it with Windows 95 compatibility), it was impossible at all to navigate back from a secondary menu at main menu by pressing ESC key. This is, if you clicked on "load game" from main menu and then pressed ESC key to go back to main menu, all texts were cleared and animations stopped resulting in a freezed screen. Same happens during gameplay in order to save the game. As of a bugfix in wine 4.11 now is possible to go back but just in a certain situation: being in windowed mode (due to another bug) you have to which to any other app by pressing Alt+TAB. At the very moment wine loses the focus main menu is refreshed. No need to go back again to wine, though. As you can see if dragged apart the new appearing window. The crash happens after the original issue in Bug #40334 is solved, after the loading screen or very soon after login. The game expects memory pointers from HeapAlloc and VirtualAlloc to fit in the certain range. It is fine with ~16GB range as per my observations, that is, up to 0x3ffffffff address. I am attaching the patch which is confirmed to fix the issue with AION. The patch consists of two, the first one is not exactly related but the second one depends on it. At the present moment the first one is passing the review upstream. The solution in the second patch is to force virtual memory allocation return lower addresses when they are available (unless top-down allocation is explicitly requested), that's how it seem to work on Windows. WINEDEBUG=font log shows that for some reason CreateFontIndirectExW for Tahoma is called with charset determined by my standard locale, instead of the Japanese one. Tested on wine 7.7 as well as wine-staging 7.7. Running Arch Linux. Font replacements installed via winetricks - allfonts + fakechinese, fakejapanese, fakekorean. When Tahoma is selected as the default font, which is default on new installations of MusicBee in WINE, MusicBee displays CJK and symbols very inconsistently. 新しい日の誕生 by ２８１４ is a good example as not only is Japanese text used, but the artist name uses full-width characters which comes under the symbol part of this bug. The artist and album names are displayed just fine on the left sidebar, tag editor, track listing panel and mostly on the playing track panel. Generally, if there is no formatting on the text, it is displayed. However in the Music Explorer view, as well as playlist views such as Album & Tracks, Albums and Artists, squares are put in the text's place, typically on the portions meant to be formatted like headings (bolded, increased font size). When any other font is used, whether included by the WINE prefix or brought in from the distro, absolutely no font is displayed for those symbols whatsoever. Everywhere that renders fonts on MusicBee will not render any non-Latin symbols whatsoever. In either case, the title on the Playing Tracks panel does not display any non-Latin symbols whatsoever. I've checked the formatting and used the Regular variant of Tahoma. Changing the others on the Playing Tracks panel to Bold will result in squares, changing the size is fine. A workaround is to use a font that has all of the scripts needed for use, such as WenQuanYi Micro Hei for Japanese, Korean (on the font picker as Hangul and Hangul(Johab)) and Chinese (CHINESE_GB2312 and CHINESE_BIG5). As long as it has the relevant scripts, the symbols will be displayed, however since most fonts don't include CJK scripts, WINE/MusicBee has trouble displaying them when those fonts are picked. To make matters worse, due to .NET limitations, MusicBee can only use TrueType fonts, and some fonts result in MusicBee complaining that it's not a valid TrueType font, even though it only displays TrueType fonts in the font picker (Yu Gothic UI was used for this example). So when comparing for VER_MINORVERSION or VER_SERVICEPACKMINOR inside the "VerifyVersionInfo" API, Microsoft uses a lexical comparison - which works as: lstrcmp(tostring(dwMinorVersion1),tostring(dwMinorVersion2)) or lstrcmp(tostring(wServicePackMinor1),tostring(wServicePackMinor2)) Please note, that it's still different than comparing real numbers, because: 5.20 = 5.2 but lstrcmp("5.20","5.2") != 0 So lstrcmp-like function must be used for VER_MINORVERSION and VER_SERVICEPACKMINOR checking inside the "RtlVerifyVersionInfo" function (which is called by the "VerifyVersionInfo" API in Wine) to be compatible with Microsoft Windows. Possible fix: in "version.c" file, add a new "version_compare_values_lexical" function. It should be based on the original "version_compare_values" function, but should use "lstrcmp" calls instead of integer comparisons. Comparing it to windows, that step should be fast. Cygwin used to install fine, but even when downgrading wine I can't seem to get it to work, it all shows the same issue. Both gdb.exe and python3.8.exe fail in the python initialisation. As far as I see it python allocates 8 bytes for a sem_t structure. This uninitialized struct is given to sem_init which checks if this is a previously initialized semaphore by checking with verifyable_object_isvalid. This check happens inside a __try/__endtry [2] [3]. That way we end up in RtlUnwindEx, which inspects NtCurrentTeb()->Tib.ExceptionList. Unfortunately this list finally contains a pointer to the initial stack, which cygwin deallocated before [1].
