I've been playing an old game (Dark Age of Camelot) for years now on free servers, but I noticed there is a slow memory leak as it runs. I ran 'top' and watched the RES memory creep up to 1.0 GB and then hit about 1.2-1.3 GB before the game crashes. On WINE 8 this issue seems to persist as well. So I went back and bisected the bug and it occurs between WINE 7.3 and 7.4. In 7.3, I don't get the memory leak and the game plays for hours, but in 7.4 I get the memory leak. I've narrowed it down to this commit: https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/commit/ee12556960e30fc22f276d2de2833e… It might have to do with the code change in the function wined3d_context_gl_destroy_bo that introduced this. My laptop has two screens, the top one has a resolution of 2560x1600 (which is correctly detected by the Wayland driver). The bottom one is a resolution of 2560x1100. On X11 the image is scaled properly on the top screen but the detected resolution is wrong (it detects the top screen as 3840x1400). Installation and game start seems to work well. But the mouse icon is customized for the game, and changes depending on whether there is an object under the mouse with which you can interact. In Windows a login screen appears. In WINE the entire program simply ceases to run. It just quits before the login screen appears. As a tester, you should know that the program should be working if you make it to the login screen. Reproducible in the demo and the Steam version as well. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1690/Space_Empires_V/ The game displays an in-game window when such a file is about to load: 'File Missing - Could not load file: c:\program files\strategy first\malfador machinations\space empires v demo\pictures\models\ing_01.bmp' followed by 'Could not load file: c:\program files\strategy first\malfador machinations\space empires v demo\pictures\models\p01.bmp' As a result, some planets are displayed without textures. Note, the actual files that the game is trying to load are 'ring_01.bmp' and 'RP01.bmp' and they do exist in the given directory, but the first character of the filename is truncated by Wine for some reason. Starting from wine 6.12, Battle.net application takes a lot of time to start (more than 5 minutes). When started, it does not render content. Sometimes, after several attepmts to reload, the content is rendered. The issue persists in 6.13 and 6.14 too. I tried to install in fresh prefix, but with 6.14, after more than 10 minutes in state "Updating Battle.net update Agent", I gave up. With 6.11, installation completed in about 1 minute. [Reproducer] 1. Start redshift and ensure it entered sunset color. Better use -l LAT:LON to fake that you are in somewhere sun is already set. Default redshift will use randr backend to reset the color temp, so no extra setting is needed to reproduce. And default redshift will use 5500K for daytime and 3500K for nighttime, so the color temp change will be quite obvious. 2. Start wine GUI program I'm using Startcraft2 an galgame called "月に寄り添う乙女の作法2", both of them cause the display color temperature reset for several seconds.
