A standard windows text-box should open in the upper-left corner of the screen letting you input a new name for that object. This text window is hidden behind the game screen when it is opened thus it is inaccessible/not usable. Tried with virtual desktop mode and fullscreen: both have the same issue. Nothing obvious appears in the terminal. Last version when it worked: Wine-6.0. Bisecting revealed commit 4ce1d7f93a35322d149cbde29d619e2580159a80 was the culprit. Can't revert it on current Wine but the rename window appears properly with the previous commit. Steps to reproduce in RCT 2 demo: Start a new game with the left-most icon at the bottom, select either "Crazy Castle" or "Six Flags Belgium" scenario. Left-click on an object to open an information window, select the rename icon (looks like a brownish name-tag). A text-box is opened but it is placed behind the game screen. It is installed on small embedded PCs with AMD Geode LX processors at 500 MHz and 1 GB RAM and we have about 100 of these machines. After upgrading a test machine to newer Linux distributions and Wine 4.x the application crashes in its network functions. When booting the same hard drive via USB on a modern PC everything works, so the bug might be driver related. (But it works on the older kernel!) When attaching to the Windows process, the application crashes and Winedbg says "Can't attach to process ... Error 5". Running the application in Winedbg directly generates the above error message plus "Process of pid=xxxx has terminated". There is no backtrace, the thread dies completely. I have tried various Linux distributions using 4.x kernels (Bodhi Linux 5, Linux Mint Debian Edition 3, Debian 9.9, Debian 10, Ubuntu 16.04) and also tried Wine 2.0.2, which is the oldest available binary package, and everytime the above error occurs. Building a custom Linux kernel for the machine also didn't change anything. Trying to build Wine 1.7.18 on Debian 10 resulted in several compile time errors that I am not able to fix, so I am stuck with available binary packages. Debugging and changing the Windows application itself managed to move the crash from the first network connect to when the application is shutdown. Only widely available network component libraries for Delphi were used (Indy and ICS), there is no self-developed net code. So, the same Windows executable works with Wine 1.7.13 on Linux 3.11, but it crashes in Wine 4.x (I tried several packages from Ubuntu and Debian from winehq) on modern 4.x Linux kernels on this machine. One is a *.lnk (which points to the original xlsx) and the other is a shortcut regarding the ods file but also with *.ods ending. The clipboard data has a size field anyway so match the Windows behavior. I was using the GOG version of Incoming, but the demo (the same one mentioned in bug 44864, MD5: 5b1fff6863768eeff95167e510d09a2e, SHA256: dcc55a269c33ea5363cd937284752d7ffe57f4774c55a38dfdd4a9172376563c, 3.8MB file called incoming.exe, available via cnet.com at least) also exhibits the same issue. I have attached the terminal output from the GOG version as log.txt, and I will also attach the terminal output of the GOG version as well as the demo versions of those two. The wine version I am using is from the Arch Linux repositories, and I am using a clean 64 bit wineprefix with no settings changed at all (this setup worked fine before), although I also tried a 32 bit wineprefix, same results. This bug occurs from version 612 and onward (now at 613), which basically doesn't open the window at all (but the process isn't killed, so it just hangs in the terminal and I'm unable to terminate it). The VS2022 (and I think also VS2019) C++ standard library in C++20 mode uses this DLL to implement the timezone database as specified by the C++ standard. The standard library loads this DLL dynamically with LoadLibraryExW (see <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/blob/ef62d3fa0b8e4e2406b9bb74e916e1ca8a1df…>) and throws a std::system_error (see <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/blob/ef62d3fa0b8e4e2406b9bb74e916e1ca8a1df…> and <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/blob/ef62d3fa0b8e4e2406b9bb74e916e1ca8a1df…>) when it cannot load it. In order to provide compatibility with modern Windows versions, IMHO Wine should thus ship a compatible icu.dll. A similar issue also exists for older Windows versions even on the Microsoft side (see <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/issues/1911>). This issue arose since I recently modernized timezone handling in OpenMPT by using C++20 chrono. For now, I have worked around the problem in OpenMPT. Installing dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe downloaded from the MS website, the installer will open and verify the integrity of files. The next stage will attempt to install the .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile. Towards the end of this install the installer will fail with HRESULT 0x80070643, leaving little or no information in the %TEMP% folder as to the cause. The installer will only run if wine is set to WinXP. Process used to reproduce: WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-net40 sh winetricks gecko WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-net40 sh winetricks windowscodecs ie7 msxml3 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-net40 wineboot WINEDEBUG=+relay WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-net40 wine Downloads/net40/dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe &> net-out I also attempted to install the .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile prior to installing the Full package. This provides the same error, the only difference to the above process used was the filename of the Client Profile installer dotNetFx40_Client_x86_x64.exe. Each time I attempted to install I used a clean WINEPREFIX, deleting the prior one before attempting again.
