A freeware version can be downloaded from http://www.hex-rays.com/idapro/idadownfreeware.htm The background colour of the scrollbars at the bottom and right edges of the disassembly window is white in Wine. They should be a grey/white crosshatch pattern. Strangely, this issue seems to apply only to the disassembly window; scrollbars for other windows (for example text search results windows) have the correct background. To reproduce: download and install IDA Pro freeware version. Run the program, and open a Windows executable. Notice the white scrollbar backgrounds. Choose Search/text... (or press Alt-T) and enter some text which appears several times in the program (e.g. mov). The resizing handles should be visible when clicking an object with the select tool. By contrast, the turning/shearing handles are visible. The turning/shearing handels appear when clicking an object twice with the select tool. Additionally, Bezier handles and points on curves do appear, but in wrong colors (cyan instead of red). Bezier handles and points appear when using the edit shape tool. This is on a wine 1.1.2 install on Ubuntu Linux 8.04 in its standard settings. The same bug is present when using Xara Xtreme X1, which is the thirdlast edition. The bug is also present in earlier versions of wine (e.g. 0.9.56) and CrossOver (e.g. 7.0.1). In order for this to work properly, the output handle created in this code must be inherited by the subprocess - thus the bInheritHandles argument to CreateProcess must be TRUE. And indeed if this program is compiled to test-true.exe, a simple text file 'test.in' and the gzip binary are placed in the same directory, and then test-true.exe is run, it successfully produces the output test.gz. If the TRUE argument is switched to FALSE and the file is compiled again to test-false.exe, when the program is run in the same way on a 'real' Windows sytem (32 bit Vista Business in this case) the following is output: gzip: stdout: Bad file descriptor This is also fine and expected, since the output file handle was not passed to gzip. *However* if the same test-false.exe program is run with Wine (the Fedora 10 wine-core-1.1.12-1.fc10.i386 package in this case) it runs in just the same way as test-true.exe, generating the test.gz output. This suggests to me that the bInheritHandles argument is ignored by Wine. As stated, this is a minor bug but it would be nice if Wine behaved the same way as Windows here. (In our case we discovered this problem after we tested our program successfully under Wine, but then had it fail on a real Windows system.) When trying to run the Xilinx Vivado 2014.4 web installer, the program crashes shortly after startup. A look at the log output suggests the installer is calling systeminfo and piping the output to findstr to get the OS version. However, systeminfo is a stub, and so outputs nothing to stdout. Running the installed app offers me "Trust and launch", whereupon I get the "round hourglass" for about 15 seconds, then... nothing. No error window, no nothing. It should be accessing the status and configuration of the power line modems that I have. The Linux box it's on is communicating over them to post this message. None of the R300-R500 cards have vertex texture support and as far as I can see mesa correctly reports GL_MAX_VERTEX_TEXTURE_IMAGE_UNITS = 0 BTW Anno1404 under nine also produces TXL opcodes in vertex shaders, but there is might be also gallium-nine problem. But if you right click on the logbook page, then select SETUP -> GRID LAYOUT and try to change some checkboxes (didn't matter which one), when clicking APPLY or CANCEL a crash will occur. Similar crashes also happens in other similar windows. Crash seems to occur every time a "modal" window is closed. When I have a listbox, the field is not correctly initialized, despite the list is ok. Debugging my application, I have found that it is due to a strange memory management. I start by saying that Clipper/xBase uses dynamic scoping, so the value of a variable is the last assigned to it into the stack; a variable can be local or global (prefixed by m->). When using the dialog that has the problem, I use the activation command (Fivewin library): m->mTipoDoc:=.... // assign the global variable m->mTipoDoc activate DIALOG oDlg centered on init (SettaCombo()) function SettaCombo() // initialization code of the dialog ... // use the global variable m->mTipoDoc but, at this point, when using WINE, the variable has lost its content and is empty I solved the problem using a local variable that temporarily holds the value of the global variable: m->mTipoDoc:=.... // assign the global variable m->mTipoDoc local tmpcod:=m->mTipoDoc // to solve the wine bug activate DIALOG oDlg centered on init (SettaCombo(tmpcod)) function SettaCombo(val) m->mTipoDoc:=val // to solve the wine bug ... // use the global variable m->mTipoDoc Evidently the local variable is managed in a different way by WINE and the error has disappered. To test this behaviour, I wrote the attached sample program. Into the zip there is a readme.pdf that explains how it works.
