I was using the GOG version of Incoming, but the demo (the same one mentioned in bug 44864, MD5: 5b1fff6863768eeff95167e510d09a2e, SHA256: dcc55a269c33ea5363cd937284752d7ffe57f4774c55a38dfdd4a9172376563c, 3.8MB file called incoming.exe, available via cnet.com at least) also exhibits the same issue. I have attached the terminal output from the GOG version as log.txt, and I will also attach the terminal output of the GOG version as well as the demo versions of those two. The wine version I am using is from the Arch Linux repositories, and I am using a clean 64 bit wineprefix with no settings changed at all (this setup worked fine before), although I also tried a 32 bit wineprefix, same results. This bug occurs from version 612 and onward (now at 613), which basically doesn't open the window at all (but the process isn't killed, so it just hangs in the terminal and I'm unable to terminate it). The VS2022 (and I think also VS2019) C++ standard library in C++20 mode uses this DLL to implement the timezone database as specified by the C++ standard. The standard library loads this DLL dynamically with LoadLibraryExW (see <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/blob/ef62d3fa0b8e4e2406b9bb74e916e1ca8a1df…>) and throws a std::system_error (see <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/blob/ef62d3fa0b8e4e2406b9bb74e916e1ca8a1df…> and <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/blob/ef62d3fa0b8e4e2406b9bb74e916e1ca8a1df…>) when it cannot load it. In order to provide compatibility with modern Windows versions, IMHO Wine should thus ship a compatible icu.dll. A similar issue also exists for older Windows versions even on the Microsoft side (see <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/issues/1911>). This issue arose since I recently modernized timezone handling in OpenMPT by using C++20 chrono. For now, I have worked around the problem in OpenMPT. Installing dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe downloaded from the MS website, the installer will open and verify the integrity of files. The next stage will attempt to install the .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile. Towards the end of this install the installer will fail with HRESULT 0x80070643, leaving little or no information in the %TEMP% folder as to the cause. The installer will only run if wine is set to WinXP. Process used to reproduce: WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-net40 sh winetricks gecko WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-net40 sh winetricks windowscodecs ie7 msxml3 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-net40 wineboot WINEDEBUG=+relay WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-net40 wine Downloads/net40/dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe &> net-out I also attempted to install the .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile prior to installing the Full package. This provides the same error, the only difference to the above process used was the filename of the Client Profile installer dotNetFx40_Client_x86_x64.exe. Each time I attempted to install I used a clean WINEPREFIX, deleting the prior one before attempting again. Point-and-click game developed by Wizarbox and released in 2008. I couldn't find the game on either Steam or GOG. However, for those who want to confirm the bug, the game is easily found in The Internet Archive Software Collection. OS: Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS 64bit. Wine: wine-9.3 development version (staging version is also affected). Default Wine configuration, unmodified. Clean Wine directory. Description: The game crashes at the start of the "Hook the Keys" mini-game. An error message box is displayed. This is chronologically the third mini-game in the game; the first two mini-games do not cause the game to crash. This "Hook the Keys" mini-game is launched when you play Max and you use the "Fishing rod" with the "Wooden grille" at the centre of the Winsome Maid deck. Only a German-language demo is available. I've provided the link to download it. Once installed, the demo launches in windowed mode. To run it in full-screen mode, add the option '-fullscreen' ('wine perry_rhodan.exe -fullscreen'). There is a workaround: run the demo using the option '-compatibility_mode' ('wine perry_rhodan.exe -compatibility_mode'). In compatibility mode, the game starts but in the lowest graphics settings. When you go to 'Settings' ('Einstellungen'), and try to set the 'Default settings' ('Voreinstellung') to 'High' ('Hoch'), it remains on 'Custom' ('Eigene') with 'Shadowmap' disabled in 'Shadows' ('Schatten'). The attempt to activate 'Shadowmap' shadows fails (it remains deactivated even after the settings have been saved) and the message below appears in the log. These errors can be ignored by clicking on "Continue". The sound of the video is audible, but the video display is truncated. My OS is Xubuntu 15.04, 64-bit. It is a graphic programming tool for a series of controllers for heating, solar heat, warm water and similar that are made by the Austrian company "Technische Alternative". The programme can be downloaded from their website at http://www.ta.co.at/de/download/software/tapps-2.html . I'm using the German language version. The programme seems to run fine, apart from the one point: Whenever I try to copy/paste an Object, wine crashes as soon as I select "paste" from the menu or type Ctrl-V on the keybord. The problem persists in wine 1.7.47; cf. discussion on https://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=24953&sid=cea1d4583ec853e13e85… . Attached is wine's crash report.
