When starting the program directly with "wine program.exe" the WM_CLASS is set to "program.exe", so setting a proper icon in a .desktop file is possible. But some apps need a virtual desktop, so "wine explorer /desktop=app program.exe" should behave the same and report a WM_CLASS "program.exe". As an alternative, bug #50095 gives a different approach: allow WM_CLASS to be set by an environment variable. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
