I am testing the three affinity brand programs (the photo, the publisher and the designer) installing them in test mode (there is a report of an affinity program that claims to access the "extract" box but it is for licensed users, not in shareware mode) and the debugger jumps giving me an error. The libraries that have been installed are dotnet48 and dotnet35, the wine is 9.12 without patches, Windows 10 mode and I have not installed directx yet. When this setting is disabled, the game can be played just fine - though no extensive testing was done on this matter, prior reports from Wine 1.x seem to imply the rest of the game should be functional otherwise. Tested on Wine Staging 10.17 from the Arch `extra` repos. Not sure if this was a regression or not, would require testing with older Wine versions. Note, game does require `mf` to be installed to play and progress past the FMVs (WMV format). I am running Linux Mint 22.2 with native drivers. My computer is an AMD Phenom II X3 B75 with 4GB DDR3 RAM. The Wine version is 10.18 Development. This happened both in Battlefield 2 original and Battlefield 2 Special Forces, where the loading is complete and the mission starts. I would add that the Wine version tested by the tester in the provided link was using 10.16 Staging, and that the test was recent. I have included the log, and I apologise beforehand if it doesn't meet with criteria. All is fine, no visual artifacts with AMD graphics and setting two environment variables. I tried 9.7, and many 10.x releases including 10.17 and 10.18. The Affinity canvas may not appear unless I hover the mouse over it changing personas or workspaces e.g. Vector, Pixel, repeatedly. I went through the affinity-photo3-wine9.13-part3 patch series and applied three lines from it. That resolved the canvas occasionally not appearing. Add fix for inconsistent window surface updates with Canva applications. The lines can be found in ElementalWarrior's Wine repo, branch affinity-photo3-wine9.13-part3. Decimation Master has two compatibility modes, a separate .exe and a .dll mode. Currently, .exe mode gets stuck in the mid 90% range when pre-processesing meshes, although it can be cancelled with Esc and the Zbrush remains otherwise usable. .dll mode successfully pre-processes a mesh, but will crash zBrush with an "unrecoverable error" prompt when the button is pressed to actually decimate the mesh to the target density. As a result, neither are working, and one fully hard-crashes Zbrush with 100% reliability. Using the pen tablet to move the cursor outside the Zbrush program window and interact with the rest of the desktop environment does not appear to reliably trigger this. This is separate from bug 58950 (pen tablet pressure functionality regression in 10.x Staging). This issue has been present for several stable releases. In an application I'm developing, I've found that GetGlyphOutlineW returns a negative number under specific circumstances in Wine. According to the documentation, it should return a positive number, with the exception of GDI_ERROR (-1). My program therefore treats the return value as unsigned (as specified in the documentation) and checks against -1, which doesn't work when it returns -32 instead. It's not clear to me why this value is being returned, but I've only seen it reproduce with a specific character (¯) in a specific font. I've put together a minimal reproducing sample. The issue reproduces on both 32 and 64 bit, and does not reproduce on Windows. Source code and a copy of the necessary font (https://ggbot.itch.io/raster-forge-font) are attached, as are expected and actual logs. In this sample, -8 is returned instead of -32, but I suspect the root cause is similar - it shouldn't be returning anything lower than -1 in either case. For what it's worth, I'm running on EndeavourOS, which hasn't received 10.9 yet at the time of writing, but I've checked the commit logs for gdi32 and haven't seen anything that looks relevant. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
