The DX9 and OpenGL benchmarks are not affected. The first commit where the problem appeared for me: commit 7c844cd3c9c465bdeaf3d98d6da5f2f5e460e650 wined3d: Use the chunk allocator for GL indirect draw buffers. The settings I'm using in Unigine Heaven 4.0: Preset: custom API: DirectX 11 Quality: Low Tesselation: Disabled Stereo 3D: disabled Multi-Monitor: disabled Anti-aliasing: Off Full Screen: unchecked Resolution: 1280X720 This is the result of the DX11 benchmark in wine-9.0-rc4-25-g44aa651dc54: FPS: 126 Score: 3174 Min FPS: 11.9 Max FPS: 362.3 The benchmark with commit 7c844cd3^: FPS: 175 Score: 4390 Min FPS: 10.9 Max FPS: 362.9 Tested and reproduced with the following Nvidia drivers: 470.223.02 (legacy branch) 535.43.22 (Vulkan dev) 545.29.06 Please let me know if I should provide debug logs or further tests. However if I use the mouse wheel to cycle through the available images then any of the available portraits can be selected. The last Wine version where the mouse button still worked: Wine-7.5. This is the commit where the problem first occured: commit d42888f07c6e3e491c99bb5c8b62b568264e990c user32: Use NtUserMessageCall for SendMessageA implementation. Plain terminal output doesn't show anything related. Demo version is not available. I tested with the GOG.com version of the game. If you try to skip the intro, it works until you try to play another video, at which point the game locks up. This issue appears to have been present in both reports on AppDB, dating from 2008 to 2011. I tried using winetricks to install avifil32.dll, which failed, so I grabbed the DLL out of the exe it downloads manually and installed it myself, to no avail. If I trace all, I find a bunch of MCI spam around when it hangs up, so that might be the faulty component. I've attached a truncated log, since it just repeats that spam until I force quit. My PC has 2 display monitors, one with 3840x2160 resolution (#1) and the second with 1920x1080 resolution (#2). #1 has a resolution scaling at 200% to avoid the "barrier" between the two screens which block the mouse and it is my main display. Scaling resolution in winecfg is set to 192pp and i have this issue with 96ppp (default) too. The problem is encountered when i set a smaller resolution than the #1 resolution, ex : 2560x1440 or 1920x1080. With these resolutions, the mouse cursor is not at the right place so i can navigate in the main menu or change option. I will soon try to install mono-complete 6.12.0.199+dfsg-6 on my Kubuntu 24.04.3 with Wine 9.0. But I found via Internet research that dotnet8 should be install if after installing mono-complete this error message is stil present one my install dotnet8. Unfortunately I have not found any info on WineHQ about this probem.
