This also causes white flashes when switching away and/or back to the game window when running in windowed mode, but it seems to be more a symptom of the commit blamed in 58491 [2]. Using the open-source amdgpu/mesa drivers, and KWin-X11. Last tested at d60f8286056 [3]. Instead, Wine's default, minimal, and visually unappealing decorations are displayed. I have enabled option "Allow the window manager to decorate the windows" in winecfg and it's working fine on Xwayland. Whenever a program uses mouse warping, a bounding box may trap it at a random time. This is temporarily resolved by causing the window to lose focus. I first knew this bug to occur on 2.4, and it may have been earlier. I knew 2.0 to work perfectly in this regard, but Steam now crashes on that version and cannot test 2.1-2.3. I've created a video demonstrating situations where this occurs. The bug has developed gradually. First version that crashes only on unplugging was 9.4. Since version 9.11 wine crashes on both plugging and unplugging. Tests were done by creating a completely new prefix for each tested version. Three Games: - Worms Revolution Gold Edition - Vertical Drop Heroes HD - Tower 57 are not working at all, as the display shows less than 1/4 of the screen being extremely blurred. So all show the same problem and all have low res grphics. I am using 4k screen with DPI factor 256 and I thought changing one or both - scaling and resolution - would do the job. But the small part of the game output visible does not even change in any way when using FHD (1920x1080) res. Is this a known problem or can you give infos/links about this problem? I think "Worms Revolution" is a game which should work as it is really famous for a reason. Unfortunately GOG is only providing support for the OS given - so in that case for Windows - which I would not use. I discussed about trying to support Wine, too - but at least concerning the support they have orders which does not help gamers. I am an experienced Unix administratior form Sciences and IT industry and if I can help, I can provide further info if one could guide about the important parameters. Unfortunately I am not yet prepared to use development versions of Wine an I am astonished that it is not more important to give the latest stable version. Wine HW did a great job as e.g. Atari Reacharged can not work except for "Blach Widow Recharged" with Wine 9 (Kubuntu 24.04 LTS based) while all work flawlessly with Wine 10. If you can give hint to further information, I would be happy. As my tries getting info like AppDB did not work for me at all. See the attached screenshot from Wine 5.0.3 (left) and the same application running under Windows 10 x64 (right). The field value is "<HT>www.test.org<HT>x" ("<HT>" denotes a single horizontal tab character), yet Wine shows just "www.test.orgx" in the field. However, Wine clearly knows the horizontal tab characters are present, because it shows them in the text field tooltip stating (in English) "Website address<NEW LINE>[<TEXT FIELD VALUE>]". It relies on layered windows and DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea to handle the transparent display. Currently, the main UI elements show, but the game (or any other application) does not show through. This seems to be because DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea is only a stub. I'm not sure if that's the only reason it's not transparent, but it's at least one of the reasons. The program itself uses the unity3d engine along with some native dll calls to the relevant user32 apis to handle the transparency. I was able to get a copy of the relevant code (but not the whole application), of which I will attach. Since I can't get all of the code, I've been using an unity sample application to try to figure out some parts myself (the relevant code is here https://github.com/pheonise/Unity3D-Desktop-Overlay/blob/master/Assets/Scri…) This unity3d application works as expected on windows, but is not transparent via wine (as expected). When i comment the call to DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea, then it its also no longer transparent on windows as well. It seems that if the sample application works, then I can make sure the dev applies to the same technique to the overlay application.
