Steps to reproduce: 1. Download and install WebView2 (which includes Edge) from https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/ 2. Run: wine "/PATH/TO/PREFIX/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft/EdgeCore/VERSIONNUMBER/msedge.exe" --no-sandbox --disable-gpu --no-first-run Edge will launch, it will respond to inputs for a very short time, then freeze completely. --no-sandbox is required for it to launch at all, I will also file a bug for this issue. --disable-gpu is required wine wined3d, it can be dropped if using DXVK. --no-first-run disables the first run prompting you to sign in and such, it has no bearing on the bug itself. Reproduced with NVIDIA 535.43.22 and with nouveau/Mesa 23.3.3 as well. Not a regression, the problem is present with every Wine version I tried back until 1.9.11. To reproduce the problem with the early demo version + UIM.06 patch: 1. Install the demo version, link is in URL. Setting Win98 mode is advisable because the installer is from that era. Don't start the demo yet. 2. Install the UIM.06 patch over the demo: http://www.zedo.hardwar.info/HardwarUIM06.zip 3. Start Hardman.exe (launcher), select Display tab, enable '32 Bit Textures' option in Image Quality. The rest of the options here have no effect on the bug. 4. Go back to the 'Game' tab in the launcher, <Launch...>, <OK>, <Save>. The game should enter the main menu. 5. Enter a pilot name then select a job and voilà... you are in the cockpit with psychedelic textures everywhere. The problem is there is a "screen effects" feature (which are like screen shaders in RetroArch, used to emulate old CRTs, etc) which doesn't work. By default, BigPEmu uses OpenGL (BigPEmu main menu > Video > Video Plugin > BigPEmu_Video_OpenGL) but can also be changed to use D3D12 which will cause it crash at startup on macOS 11. Steps to reproduce: 1. launch BigPEmu 1.18 with the following options (also opens a console): wine ~/BigPEmu_v118/BigPEmu.exe * -conout 2. use backspace/enter to navigate backward/forward in BigPEmu, go back to the main menu, then Video > Screen Effect > choose any screen effect 3. an error message pops up: "Failed to set the selected screen effect. It may be incompatible with your hardware or video plugin. You can enable logging and check the log for more details." 4. check the console which shows this error: "[1;31mError: Graphics hardware isn't equipped to run screen effects.
