PS was installed on windows. I believe I used "winetricks gdiplus vcrun2010 vcrun2012 vcrun2013 vcrun2015 msxml3 msxml6 atmlib corefonts fakejapanese" to get this far. X ing out of the small window closes PS. Log is attached. Looks to me like it is stuck trying (and failing) to render web content? It works fine on xwayland. Steps to reproduce: 1. Have a monitor and GPU that supports VRR 2. Set up a framerate limiter such as Mangohud, cap the game to a framerate within the monitor's VRR range (most 1080p 144hz monitors with VRR/Freesync/G-Sync have a range of 144hz to 48hz). 3. Launch a game in native wayland mode with 'MANGOHUD=1 DISPLAY= wine game.exe' (assuming dxvk is set up and your GPU supports Vulkan), make sure the game is in fullscreen. 4. Cap the game's framerate, if your monitor has a refresh rate on-screen display watch it spike from the framerate you capped it at to the monitor's max refresh rate. 5. Test it again with xwayland wine in fullscreen 'MANGOHUD=1 wine game.exe', cap the framerate and actiavte the monitor's refresh rate on-screen display. It will stay at/around the game's capped framerate. Using KWin Wayland 6.3.4, Kernel 6.14 Mesa 25.0.3, AMDGPU RX 6000 graphics with a 144hz monitor connected via Display Port. An exception is thrown and the application basically locks up after canceling a print command from the application's help viewer. In bug #25873, Erich Hoover asked to be CCed on this new report. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start PAF5. 2. Select 'New' from the dialog (or the menu bar if you don't see a dialog). 3. Click on the yellow question mark on the right-hand end of the menu bar. This brings up the help viewer. 4. Click on 'Print'. 5. In the print dialog, click on 'Cancel'. 6. Back in the help viewer, click on a couple of chapter titles in the left-hand pane. 7. Observe that the help viewer and application have become unresponsive and that an exception has been printed to stdout/stderr. All other tests are running fine. Interestingly the very similar 3DMark05 benchmark is running completely error free. (This may be because the older version doesn't contain the same complex HDR PS 3.0 Shader programs.) Note, I have tested this at an 32bit and 64bit Wine prefix. The error output is: D3DXGetImageInfoFromFileInMemory failed: Invalid data (D3DXERR_INVALIDDATA) D3DXDisassembleShader failed: Ran out of memory (E_OUTOFMEMORY) The solution is to install the original 'd3dx9_28.dll' file (winetricks -q d3dx9_28). After that, everything is working as it should. This is because it is not possible to install Adobe Creative Cloud either, due to missing Internet Explorer 11. After starting Photoshop, the attached popup appears, so no possibility to use Photoshop CC, which is known to work in Wine (seemingly the tested versions of Photoshop CC are cracked somehow to skip this step, but that is illegal and dangerous for being know to bring malware). Everything else is silent. I have OpenAL installed, and ~/.alsoftrc contains: austin(a)midna:~$ cat .alsoftrc drivers = alsa I've tried disabling mmdevapi in winecfg, changing windows version to vista/7, using hardware emulation, using OSS instead of ALSA, etc., but have yet to get any sound out. The AppDB suggests installing foobar2000, then: "Use foobar2000 to set the playback device and then select the Direct Analog version in MassEffect2Config.exe." though in the configuration tool's audio tab, the sound devices list is empty, for me (with/without foobar2000). Steps to reproduce: 1. Download and install WebView2 (which includes Edge) from https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/ 2. Run: wine "/PATH/TO/PREFIX/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft/EdgeCore/VERSIONNUMBER/msedge.exe" --no-sandbox --disable-gpu --no-first-run Edge will launch, it will respond to inputs for a very short time, then freeze completely. --no-sandbox is required for it to launch at all, I will also file a bug for this issue. --disable-gpu is required wine wined3d, it can be dropped if using DXVK. --no-first-run disables the first run prompting you to sign in and such, it has no bearing on the bug itself. Attached is the macOS Terminal log after copying Gcenx's 32-bit `d3d11.dll` from his DXVK-macOS package to the same directory as the OutOfCtrl.exe executable.
